The Indian culinary prowess of Jewel of the Park is, you will not be surprised to hear, rather well known across East Victoria Park and indeed all of Perth – to be the jewel of anywhere, after all, you have to be better than good. Excellently located – just off busy Albany Highway – Jewel of the Park is a cosy retreat where warm service complements a menu that, unusually, takes in the very best of both north and south India. The team here have a motto: ghar ka swadisht khana, meaning ‘tasty food, cooked at home’ – what could be more inviting than that?
At Jewel of the Park you will fall in love with Indian food all over again. That much, we’re sure of. Find it on Albany Highway – the main approach to Perth’s Swan River if you’re cruising through East Victoria Park – then dine well and dine long. It’s a splendid little space with dark wood and ambient light in abundance, filled with a team who are passionate about the food they are serving. This, we have always found, makes a big difference. They’ll be happy to advise you on any one of the curries available should you need a little help deciding and, if you’re interested, they can also share a little wisdom on the origins of the ingredients – chances are they’re going to be local.
The menu at Jewel of the Park makes use of spices that are truly authentic – rather than any of the sugary stuff often used in lesser quality Indian cuisine – and nearly all of it is gluten-free. Try dishes from the north and from the south of India, a chettinad or a shashlik, a bhuna gosht or a simple korma – it’s all exceptional and it’s all cooked fresh to order. If there’s a group of you, you’d be wise to take Jewel of the Park up on their set banquets, priced per person and a fantastic way to sample a bit of everything. And that, diners of Victoria Park, is all there is to it. Reserve your tables now and prepare to try some of the best Indian cuisine in all of Perth.
Food and service was great : ) We will certainly be back again soon. The wine was nice but the selection was a little slim.
this is the third time I have visited the restaurant and even though they forgot to serve a couple of things we ordered the food was great as usual.
great food will definitely return. Asked for not too spicy and it all came out perfect. didn't have to wait long either for our food and it came out all at once
Great food and service. BYO wine. I recommend the vegetable samosas, lamb mulgai and Kashmiri naan. This is the type of restaurant to visit with a group of friends - relaxed and fun.
Our booking through Quandoo was excellent. got a reply for our confirmation straight away and a reminder the day before. also used the email Quandoo prepared to let our friends know of the booking. highly recommend Quandoo. Great food, and staff very polite and helpful. The manager/owner was very accommodating and we were able to order the set menu even though it was for a very small group - we were most appreciative. The restaurant was very clean and we will definitely be back! Thank you!
Friendly staff, amazing food and a great atmosphere. Managed to accommodate such a large group with ease and in a reasonably quick manner. Will definitely be coming back in the near future,
Had a very pleasant evening. Food and service was excellent. Good value for money. Couldn't fault anything other than they made it clean it was time to go home.
Great service, food was delicious. As there were 10 of us we decided on the $29.95 silver buffet - value for $'s and ample food. Will return.
Went with a group of 6 girlfriend's , shared a selection of dishes and enjoyed all of the. Staff polite and friendly. Definitely recommended 😀
