Norton Street isn’t lacking for Italian restaurants – this stretch of Leichardt is renowned as an enclave for Sydney’s Italian community and the place is brimming with possibilities. But if you’re looking for true old-school Italian dining, it’s well worth checking out Jovanotti Cafe, which offers a casual cafe-restaurant experience reminiscent of old world trattoria. Delicious wood-fired pizzas are a no-brainer, while chargrilled seafood, meat dishes, and delicious pasta and risotto being, if you’ll permit us to borrow from another European language, de rigeur.
Wonderful service. Good simple Italian fare. Nice atmosphere. The wood fired pizzas are a specialty. The Jovanotti is especially good. Only two desserts on offer but both yum.
The perfect restaurant if you are after excellent service and delicious food. 100% recommend this cosy, local gem. We can't wait to work our way through the crowd pleasing menu.
If you’re looking for quick, easy, and satisfying solution to your hunger pangs, and Italian is on the cards, Jovanotti Cafe down Norton Street is a good bet. Their pizzas in particular are popular among Sydney’s Leichardt residents – authentic, wood-fired numbers that cover all the classic bases, so to speak. While there’s the simple and always delicious margherita and marinara options, pizza lovers are recommended the signature Jovanotti pizza, an elaborate combination of Italian ingredients like prosciutto, bocconcini, olives, sun-dried tomato, artichoke, and chilli olive oil.
Proper sit down dining at Jovanotti Cafe is rewarded by wonderful service and down-home Italian cuisine. Pick a spot either inside or on the streetfront terrace and prepare to while away the hours over great Italian food and a glass or three from this Leichardt restaurant’s wine selection. There’s even a fireplace at Jovanotti’s Norton Street premises, adding to the rustic charm of the place. Seafood is popular here, with a range of swordfish, calamari, prawns and making their way into rich risotto dishes or onto chargrilled skewers. Jovanotti is a certainly a fixture in this hotspot for Italian dining in Sydney.
