Fantastic food, reasonably priced, friendly staff. Will definitely be back 👍
Enjoyed our experience, staff friendly, food was great and didn’t take long. Will go again.
Staff are lovely and food was delicious thank you ..
The food was absolutely delicious, fresh and beautifully presented. Highly recommend.
Good quality tasty food. Service is average. They are all busy like most restaurants but fail to see you - felt like I was invisible at times
great food great service highly reccommend great atmosphere beautiful staff
Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere! Would definitely go back!
The quality of the food is first class!! Beautiful presentation and so delicious. This was our second visit, and the food was delicious both times! Service is good but needs work.
Delicious japanese food, in particular the aburi sushi and sukiyaki. Can get a little loud in the restaurant.
Always an excellent meal with friendly service. We go at least once a week.
Fabulous Japanese food and wine list and really great service!
Awesome food, awesome service. This is our third visit and the consistency is to be commended
Adequate dining experience. Food if anything served too quickly and what was ordered was overly sweet. No assistance with drinks at all.
enjoyable experience with lovely food, we will be back soon.
Overall it was very nice and we will be back
As usual great food, friendly service, minor communication problems as their English isn't great. Atmosphere is good, it's just noisy.
Delicious food, nice atmosphere, good noise level and helpful service.
Amazing food and great staff!! I loved it! Vist again
Wonderful food. Excellent authentic Japanese cuisine. Great atmosphere. Attentive service. A bit noisy.
great place will go back without hesitation enjoy your time
Best Japanese I’ve had in Melbourne. The raw fish platter is exceptional, service is always excellent.
Food was great, noise level was too high, our waitress was lovely but there was a language barrier as she couldn't speak English very well.
Aburi sushi was amazing. Great food and sake. Cool fitout
Fantastic service and genuine authentic Japanese cuisine. I would choose to go.
Good food, service & atmosphere. Modern Japanese restaurant. I'll be back
Incredible service and food. Every meal was exceptional. The eggplant with miso glaze, the yummiest crispy Agadeshi Tofu I've every had. Yummy yakitori chicken skewers. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend. I was too full for the matcha and black sesame ice-cream (but I've had it before). YUM!
One of the best Japanese restaurants we've tried in our area.
Lovely service and were not rushed at all. Great food
the restaurant needs to do something about the noise - very hard to hear even though we were only a party of 4
The restaurant had fabulous fresh food! We will definitely be back.
The food was delicious.! The noise inside the restaurant however meant that we ( 2 OF US ) could not hear each other speak ! As we were there to catch up with each other , this was very disappointing . not sure we would return unless perhaps earlier in the week.
Great Japanese food - all the staples done well and some more creative dishes. All dishes were high quality. Across the road from the Rivoli so perfect for pre-show dinner
Ordered the chicken teriyaki but was underwhelmed both by the quantity and the quality of the meal for the price it was. Chicken was in fairly large chunks for a mouthful and was surprised that the rice didn't come with the meal for the price it came with. Found the cocktail way too sweet for my liking but that could be a personal preference. I do not think I will be back at Ohsho.
All I can say is that there was no booking for us. Very lucky that it was not to busy and we got a table. Not really happy about the booking service
Staff are not always able to answer questions, probably a language issue I assume..That is not a criticism as they are very polite and apologetic.
Excellent quality and range of food. All courses were very well presented. BYO a bonus! I am looking forward to going back to try other dishes.
Excellent service. Food is fresh very tasty & beautifully presented Everything was delicious. The only downside of a very enjoyable evening was the noise level
The ambience and the service were great! The Sushi was really good and presented beautifully, the gyoza were quite nice but unfortunately things went way, WAY down hill from there. The main courses were all VERY underwhelming and disappointing. The udon noodles were very salty lacking flavour and substance. The teriyaki chicken was also not particularly good and served with western style steamed vegetables that just did not suit the dish. We also ordered the Ohsho salad assuming it would be a house special - for $15 we got a bowl of mixed lettuce, 4 quarters of tomato and 6 small pieces of avocado soaked in dressing. Way overpriced and a HUGE disappointment. We also ordered the Nasu Dengaku (eggplant) This is a real favorite of ours and we were very disappointed with the way it was served. It looked great and presentation was excellent, but the sauce was only on the skin (which meant the flesh had no flavoring) and there was not enough sauce given the amount of eggpalnt. It was also quite bitter. We did not finish the dish. We tried this restaurant for a special dinner and came away disappointed - specially since they tried to charge us $7 BYO charge and we had not actually had any alcohol. On the up side, I would go back at a pinch, but would only order the Sushi. It seems like there is a special sushi chef (who does a great job) and a kitchen hand that serves up the rest of the meals. There was simply no comparison between the two types of dishes.
Favorite japanese restaurant in the eastern suburbs. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Sake menu quite small and could do with a better selection. Unfortunately it's not a popular drink in Australia.
Nice dining atmosphere. It was noisy being a Sat night but this is the case anywhere that is a popular eatery. One of the best refine salmon California sushi rolls I have ever eaten.pork and veggie Goza were perfect and Black cod was equally good. The only disappointment was the green Salad was overly salty and hope our feedback was passed on to the salad chef. Price expected is higher being a licensed restaurant but worth the quality. Will return again
