OKAMI - Mount Waverley

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Japanese restaurant, and it was a truly delightful experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. But what truly set this place apart was the food. The flavors were outstanding, and each dish was a delightful journey for the taste buds. Whether you’re a fan of sushi, sashimi, or hot dishes, this restaurant has something to satisfy every craving. I can’t recommend this place enough. If you’re looking for a Japanese dining experience that combines warm hospitality with exceptionally tasty food, look no further. I’ll definitely be returning for more!

Our first time there and I had high hopes! We had the beef udon noodles and the serve had 1 piece of beef that was so thin it looked like it had already been chewed (the fact it was also chewy didn’t help). We also had the Angus beef in teriyaki sauce which tasted more like a cheap cut of beef that had been stewed (was not tender and no flavour). The karage, chicken katsu, and green tea ice cream were delicious. Not sure we’d go back 😕

Service was good, food was way too salty. It was added too much salt compared to our last visit here.

Absolutely terrible. We have dined there several times & it has bern wonderful. This time we were served by a new Manager who argued & dismissed us. It was unpleasant & bullying misconduct. I will be reporting the incident to HO today. I have never experienced anything like it ever.

Despite having to wait outside in the very cold night air while they were setting up the restaurant for the food as always was delicious and unlimited!

Everything was good but you cannot order Sashimi on its own it comes with Sushi as well. I think it is a waste.

Regular here but there isn’t any quality control over the quality of food overtime. Each visit is different in terms of food preparation (edamame is over cooked this visit, and certain items were too salty) Service was slow to clear plates and second orders took very long to arrive.
