Olive Thyme

It’s always a great experience when you dine at Olive Thyme, the atmosphere is perfect. The owners and staff are incredibly accommodating. But more importantly, the food AMAZING!

We had an amazing night at Olive & Thyme. Having visited Turkey we found the food very authentic & delicious. Best of all was the service - Sibel & Yalcin were the best hosts. We’ll definitely be back.

We dined early due to theatre booking. We were able to comfortably have the chefs table within an hour. Fantastic food, beautiful restaurant, lovely hosts.

We loved our meal at Olive Thyme - as did our lunch guests. The food was really good - babaganoush as good you will find anywhere, stunning octopus, tomatoes with a first rate romanesco sauce. We were also impressed with the service and the pricing.

Food was good..my chicken dish was dry and tasted like something I could have whipped up at home. But overall some interesting dishes. Service was good too but what put me off..sorry was the $$$. $18 for a glass of wine and hardly a 1/4 of a glass at that price was a rip off. Bill for 2 was about $170. Can definitely find great food for a lot less at those prices. Thanks for the opportunity to review.

Service was excellent, food was fabulous although serving portions for the Chefs Banquet were disappointing for the price.

Wonderful experience. We had the set menu $68. Many interesting foods are included (choosing your own main was a great idea, suits many dietary issues). The cocktails were okay, the fairy floss on them was very interesting, halva flavour. The bad point of the evening was the first three menu items we asked for were not available, but after that it was fabulous. The service was good and friendly and it was a very relaxed, unrushed night, where old friends could have a good catch up. The starters were delicious. We tried each other‘s main dishes, Lamb was good, octopus was excellent as were the lamb cutlets. Chicken was great. Turkish delight ending, again was interesting great value for money.

Food was fabulous and fresh, full of flavour and an experience I could not replicate at home. Ambient noise was a little high. Service was friendly and attentive. Though there was a bit of a wait for the main meal, it was more than made up for in the whole experience.

I took our senior managers. It was quiet night (state of origin) but food was fantastic.

We had a booking at 8 pm. We were informed on the night the kitchen closed at 8.30pm. Everything seemed rushed from here on in. Including being told a 9.45 the restaurant would be closing. We did not have time to order coffee. Not a pleasant experience as it was too rushed

Lovely Turkish restaurant. I'd imagine this place is bustling on Fridays and weekends. We were only one of a few tables dining when we went, so it was quite a quiet atmosphere. I prefer a little livelier setting, if only to make conversations at a regular volume not feel awkward. But the food was gorgeous and tasted amazing. Service was also top notch.

The food was mostly quite good. But the baklava was disappointing - there was not much flavour, it was really bland. Where was the honey/rose/lemon sauce that gives baklava flavour? I am part middle eastern so I know good baklava when I have it. The dips at the beginning were amazing, the lamb main delicious, my husband enjoyed his prawn main also, and the haloumi was another highlight. Service was great, very friendly.

The food was very good, and the service professional but very rushed (it was Mother’s Day). The music was too loud, making it hard to talk/listen to other people at our table.

Amazing food. Took my work colleagues out and they had amazing service and just such good food. We got the chefs tasting menu and such good options, especially the dips and kafte.

Lovely atmosphere but overpriced. All mains averaged around $38 to $40. All bottles of wine around $80. It’s a very expensive family dinner which is a shame as we won’t be returning.

The food was superb, we had the Chefs menu and our tastebuds were delighted. Timely service meant we were not sitting around for ages waiting. Easy parking.

Always delicious food and excellent service at Olive Thyme, but somewhat expensive - for special occasions only.

We enjoyed an exceptional dining experience of calm and ambiance for our Sunday lunch. Absolutely loved the food, the timing between courses and the superb waitress service. We are keen to come back again.

My main course which was cheese wrapped in pastry and deep fried. The whole thing was so salty and greasy I couldn't eat most of it. My wife had a garlic prawn dish with zucchini strips. The prawns were tiny and of poor quality. The price for some very ordinary food and slow service ( I ordered a glass of wine, the even asking twice never appeared) was terrible. I will never go back. Awful restaurant.
