The green tea soba with the fried chicken I don't think matched in flavour. I think rice would be a better accompaniment/base. Too many dishes used mayonnaise.

The food was refined and enjoyable. The portions were small for the price charged

We enjoyed our first visit to Pabu. Would like to try some other items from them menu as well.

We used to come here years ago when we lived locally and it was great. Booked tonight for my husbands birthday. One hour after we had ordered (in an almost empty restaurant) we asked where our food was. Clearly the waitress had forgotten to put the order though. When our order of sashimi came it was a small, not large that we had ordered. Then we received 2 of the 4 share plates we ordered. Another 40 minutes later when our wine was finished we asked if our other 2 dishes were coming. No, obviously not. We asked for the manager who came to “discuss” our evening with us. After mentioning how they had made not one, but several mistakes he agreed that they had “f&@ed up” and said he would take of one of the meals that we never received off the bill. After getting quite angry after this and stating again that it was my husbands birthday and we were not happy he took one $11 prawn dish and the small sashimi off as well. Thanks very much. Not. Totally ruined evening, crap birthday dinner and went home starving. So sad for a restaurant that was excellent a few years ago. Never going back.

We have dined here a few times due to the fabulous food- but the service is always slow and frustrating . We waited 10 minutes before being seated even though we had a booking and were on time. This was the first apology from the staff. I booked a table not the bar and were seated at a bar with stools? I had to asked to be moved and again we got another sorry. We ordered water an the waitress bought it to our table without glasses? My husband had to call another waiter to ask for glasses! We waited 45 minutes for food to arrive! & had to again ask the staff for the whereabouts of our order. We then received another sorry. Finally we ordered desert which never arrived and when we asked the manager he back back with “so sorry the waitress who took your order is a trainee and should not have taken the order and she did not put it through “ by this stage if it had not been for the great food I would’ve walked out ! They then assured us desert would be out within 5 minutes which it was and was delicious. The service is absolutely appalling, extremely slow and most of the staff don’t appear to be fluent in English- if you’re going to have a restaurant with such good food then have good staff to match . I felt like I needed something to calm my nerves upon leaving and will make sure I take something before arriving next time !

Food was great, long wait for all meals, no communication from wait staff. When questioned about wait times the maitre d, proceeded with many excuses and no apology.

Great food for the most part. Was quiet so didn't understand what took the food so long to get prepared. Dessert was a bit of a flop. Will come back again and hopefully next time will be better.

Staff are nice, they will do some recommendations for Adult and Kid . Sashimi quality is good , deep fry chicken tastes good, gyoza is good.
