This Fitzroy beef house right on Brunswick Street feels like the version of a 1950s American diner before the version that people decided was cool – the proper, grungy, greasy but comforting joints that a lot of modern places miss the mark on. Sure, it’s sleek, it’s modern and it’s cool, but Roadhouse seems to have an honest heart as big as their triple threat burger (in other words – abnormal), dishing out chilled Pabst Blue Ribbon and a proper Polish-American hot dog to give some old-school feel to their menu of various meaty and vegetarian burger creations, sizzling fried chicken and mama’s own sides.
