Russian cuisine is one of the less explored corners of cuisine in Australia, and the few restaurants that do specialise in this domain have a hard time winning over custom given the reputation for stodginess and limited variety that Russian cuisine (and Eastern European cuisines as well) suffer unfairly from. Thanks to St Petersburg Restaurant in Melbourne’s Ripponlea, Russian cuisine has a culinary Kremlin that proudly fly the flag for a tradition that is historically rich, diverse, and very, very tasty indeed. Opened in 1996 by Kate and Igor Tregoubenko, St Petersburg Restaurant has gained a reputation among intrepid Victorian gourmets as a verifiable destination for authentic Russian food and hospitality. Located on Glen Eira Road within minutes of Ripponlea station, take the trans-Melbourne express armed with a booking now!

It was a great experience! Lots to eat and awesome entertainment
It was definitely not authentic Russian cuisine, food was mostly served cold, especially the main course meat skewers. So it was average most foods and portion sizes was not value for money, I was told by owner because of the use of a voucher that is what you get.
