About St Petersburg Restaurant

Russian cuisine is one of the less explored corners of cuisine in Australia, and the few restaurants that do specialise in this domain have a hard time winning over custom given the reputation for stodginess and limited variety that Russian cuisine (and Eastern European cuisines as well) suffer unfairly from. Thanks to St Petersburg Restaurant in Melbourne’s Ripponlea, Russian cuisine has a culinary Kremlin that proudly fly the flag for a tradition that is historically rich, diverse, and very, very tasty indeed. Opened in 1996 by Kate and Igor Tregoubenko, St Petersburg Restaurant has gained a reputation among intrepid Victorian gourmets as a verifiable destination for authentic Russian food and hospitality. Located on Glen Eira Road within minutes of Ripponlea station, take the trans-Melbourne express armed with a booking now!

This Russian Taste Delight restaurant is friendly with an abundance of food. Extensive array of about 8 dishes were present on our table as we arrived. Followed by approx. 6 more. Literally BYO all drinks. Fun night with some surprise Russian music.

A lot of food, fun music, interesting patrons. Travel back in time to the USSR. Not a place for a romantic dinner for two, but is fun with a group of friends.
