Looking for delicious Thai in the heart of Darwin? Look directly at Thailicious on Mitchell Street. This place has built up a steady loyal following and recognition as one of the best Thai restaurants in Darwin. They offer a unique dining experience with the choice of inside tables, an awesome outdoor rooftop terrace or traditional Thai floor cushions. Thailicious get a lot of their produce from farmers on the outskirts of the city, and their preference for fresh, local produce wherever possible is clear. The menu is huge, ranging from small bowls, starters and salads to gorgeous curries and super satisfying noodle and rice dishes. If you feel spoilt for choice, we reckon opt for one of the banquet menus, which offer a little taste of a lot (crispy roasted pork belly, Crying Tiger, duck red curry, 3 flavour fish, kang kung, and the like). Don’t forget that Thailicious do quality cocktails and great desserts too – the mango and sticky rice and black sticky rice pudding are to die for.
The food was very nice, although there was probably more sauce than meat. The wait was long (hour and a half) and the drinks are expensive. Staff are lovely and apologetic. Good atmosphere.
