‘The Darbar’ translates as ‘palace’, but this cosy Indian and Nepalese restaurant on Huntingdale’s Pipit Close feels more like a friend’s living room. Still, the service and food certainly makes you feel like you’re getting some royal treatment. Stretching across India and Nepal to pick out their favourite culinary offerings, The Darbar Indian Nepalese Restaurant roll out a menu unlike any other Indian or Nepalese restaurant in Perth. The Darbar really cover all bases, especially at their weekly all-you-can-eat buffet, so it’s very much encouraged to reserve a table in advance.
10 out of 10 for food. Our waitress was the best, very helpful and polite. Best Indian food we have eaten in Perth. Food was as good as thier sister restaurant in Fremantle
Good food and excellent service! Would definitely recommend. Location isn't great however but nice and close to me so convenient. They even stayed open late for us
Fantastic food with flavour not overpowered by heat. Very reasonable price considering the quality. We will go again. All six of us rated it highly.
You know an Indian or Nepalese restaurant is good when it manages to establish itself in more than one location, and that’s exactly what The Darbar has done in Perth. One restaurant is in Fremantle, but this one you’ll find nestled on Pipit Close in Huntingdale, and boy, do locals love it. They love it because it’s an Indian and Nepalese restaurant that’s fit for all occasions. In fact, The Darbar is a family-run place and thus super family-friendly. The dining space is simple yet inviting and, perhaps best of all, it’s BYO beer and wine. All of that makes for a successful visit before you’ve even got to the food…
On the menu at this Perth superstar you’ll find goat curry, fish amritsar and beautiful Nepalese momo dumplings, as well as fiery (or mild) curry options, of course. The usual suspects are here in abundance – korma, madras, jalfrezi and the like – as well as some signatures and sweet Nepalese desserts. As well as all that, the kids of Huntingdale can fill their boots here, too, as, unlike many other Indian or Nepalese restaurants in Perth, The Darbar has options for the little ones.
