Whytes on the Esplanade

Was a nice meal and good atmosphere but slightly over priced.

Great place, great service and the view is amazing. Food came out at a good pace and was wonderful. Went with my partner and we couldn't be happier at brunch.

Beautiful restaurant with good selection of meals at a reasonable price. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good night out.

Fabulous place. The chicken pie was the best pie ever. Lovely friendly staff and a great location. We couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommended.

A lot of dishes from the menu were not available. Only 2 dessert options with no gluten free. Also no gluten free entree options. Food we did have was lovely though.

Beautiful setting. Meal was lovely and the service was great would recommend again to anyone that asked. Looking forward to eating there again in the day when I can see the view

The food is very average. Medium steak was well done, over cooked & tough! Salmon over cooked and dry. Same dish presented differently - one on a plate the other in a bowl because they ran out of crockery. The service was friendly but they cleared only half our table and we had to ask for rest go be cleared. This restaurant is hit and miss

We had a lovely evening at Whytes. Lovely calm atmosphere, attentive staff, beautiful meal. The restaurant was almost filled to capacity but we were easily able to have a conversation without the distraction of too much noise. All in all a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back.

The meals were generous, staff were pleasant and the chairs were very comfortable. It would have been nice to be escorted to our table instead of being told to sit "over there at that table"

very limited menu selection for lunch. the service was okay but not attentive constantly trying to get the attention of the wait staff just to either add orders or request for watet

Great location, nice atmosphere, food is ok but a little clunky and below expectation for a restaurant at its price point - the wine list needs an overhaul (esp. the by the glass options)

We had the share style plates. The Calamari, Curry and Prawns and Chorizo were absolutely delicious. Beautiful outlook to top it off and reasonably priced.

Nice ambiance. Food was expensive for what was served. The service was below par with us having to wait 40 minutes before we called the waiter over to order. Same with the drinks.

Food good, service good . .The waiting staff, need to wear clothing more appropriate to serving food. Perhaps [as it is not budget priced] ,serviettes a little better than thin tissues, could be offered. Have been dining there since it opened , so a little disappointed in it's decline.

Excellent menu with great customer service. Atmosphere really welcoming and had a very enjoyable evening. Recommend the mussels and the lamb. Don't change a thing!

Love the location of this restaurant ,the inside seating and the outside with the gas heaters We were there for lunch, I had a salad which was full of flavour.

Venue is great , food tasty, but a little tired look on the plate. but over all enjoyed the experience. Love the wall fire in the outside seating area.

Not impressed. Very slow service as far as food coming out. Food was fine but very disappointed to be charged 10% surcharge on each item ordered because it was Sunday. Have also been to Whytes twice for Sunday brunch, first time poached eggs came out like hard boiled eggs and second time food was stone cold. Three strikes and they're out which is a shame as we are locals and like to take our visitors out to show off our beautiful part of the world.

The service was impeccable, checking to see if meals were right and to our liking. Always offering more to drink. The food was so amazing, couldn't fault a single item. Will definitely go back

We had a wonderful evening at the Brazilian night. Food and entertainment was excellent. The dancing ladies were fantastic loved the feather headdresses and the ladies were so friendly. We will come to Whytes again. Thank you

Great food and lovely location on The Esplanade in Torquay. Would recommend to try - staff are always pleasant and go the extra distance in being polite and giving good service.

Good priced lunch menu. Good selection to choose from. Nice atmosphere and friendly service. Modern clean decor. Spacious for big groups. Would go back again.

Great experience. The atmosphere was lovely. The food was great. It was a shame not all tap beers were available. We will definetly be back.

The food was amazing and cooked perfectly except for the Creme Brulee which had split. There was a little bit of confusion concerning our drink order and had to ask for that a couple of times, however I would definitely go back. Overall the service was good.

Food was average at best, service was ok but waitress actually mentioned they were understaffed ( which is a no no!) The mussells were so overlooked they were red and my steak hadn't been rested correctly, very simple things to get so wrong Entree & mains were very large which meant we were too full for desert , also noticed customers waiting at door unattended for several minutes. I got the feeling this restaurant is in crisis mode due to lack of strong management and leadership in the Kitchen...overall a real letdown

Staff very pleasant the food was nice. The atmosphere was good however they do need to fix the lights as one near us was constantly flickering

It appeared our reservation had not been acknowledged however staff were very friendly and quickly organised a table for 6. Efficient service and breakfast was both delicious and generous. Highly recommended.

My worst restaurant experience ever! Poor service, it took 25mins for a waiter to come to our table, we sat there with nothing, not even water, and my dinner had unwashed vegetables in it! I will not be returning here again

We have been here twice now and the food and service has been fantastic both times. Would highly recommend this place for a try.

Best meal we've had in a long time - every course was abosilutely delicious. Service was excellent. An all round lovely fine dining experience...We'll be back soon!
