A regular of ours, love the eel, generous serves. Cosy without feeling cramped.
Best Japanese I’ve ever had We come down from Sydney just to eat there The Blackened cod is nothing short of a mouth orgasm Incredible
We had not been to this restaurant for at least 12 months and the menu had changed somewhat with addition of a Tapas style menu as well as their standard. Food was sensational as usual with the standout being the mixed platter of sashimi, california rolls etc. Service was very friendly but a little slow to start as they were very busy. Overall though we had a very positive experience again and our friends who joined us and had not eaten there loved it.
It's a while since I had visited Ayame and there were many changes which suggested that there has been a change in ownership. There was a different 'feel' about the place and the food, whilst pleasant, wasn't at the previous high standard.
Our favourite Japanese restaurant! California rolls are to die for, everything super fresh and super tasty. Can’t get enough of those chicken gyoza with the perfect amount of crispyness!
Food was good. We tried the sashimi, teriyaki chicken and pork tonkatsu and all were excellent. The service was speedy, time from ordering to food arriving was very prompt! Bowl of steamed rice for $3 is also excellent value! I would recommend Ayame for a quick and satisfying Japanese meal.
Great restaurant. Had a round table which was great for a group. Food hot, tasty, very enjoyable. perfect portion sizes. Staff were attentive, helpful and discreet.
We have visited this restaurant four times in the past two years and always found the service and food to be very good. Choose carefully from the menu. Seafood is a good choice. BYO Wine with corkage @ $7-00 is reasonable. Family groups usually leave by 8PM so if you are looking for a quieter experience later might be best.
The traditional Japanese dishes such as sushi and Gyoza were really good but most of the main courses bore no resemblance to Japanese food and were awful. Service was slow
Delicious food! Very happy. The sashimi was fresh and lovely, as was the steak and the tofu. I would certainly come here again, although it is on the expensive side.
