Fantastic food as always. A bit too noisy but that should be expected with popular restaurant. Maybe the setting can be improved to minimise this issue.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Bau Truong. Great food, sophisticated desserts and good service. A cut above your average Vietnamese at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Decor is nice, food is good and portion is reasonable. Services are rather slow may be due to a busy Saturday night. Staff are not very well trained though generally are friendly. A waiter who served us the food couldn't tell the name of the dish he served and didn't make an effort to find out or seek help from his colleague. Good selection of choices on the menu. However, it would be ideal if photo of food is provided on the menu especially to the non-ethnic Vietnamese. Generally a good experience. Strongly recommended.

Excellent night out at this top Vietnamese restaurant, one of the best in Sydney in my opinion. Using Quandoo made it very easy to book and all my details of the booking were met.

We really enjoyed the deliciousness and freshness of the range of 'bites' then main meals we ordered. The service was attentive and friendly. The only drawback was that it was a bit too loud because of a couple of big groups.

Two dishes were incorrectly noted down by waitress. Food as usual was excellent. But new staff need more training. Manager was fantastic in all aspects. Complements to kitchen staff.

It was exquisite. Staff were helpful. Food was amazing. We've been many times but always have the duck and fruit entree and beef cubes as a main, amongst other dishes. The pyramid dessert is light, refreshing and the chili in the passionfruit sorbet gives it a unique twist. Highly recommended.

great food, shame it was on such a hot day and we were in an aircon black spot. The nice manager did give us a free round of beers! thanks so much, will be bak and try to get a table downstairs where the aircon was working well :)

Our party of four consisted of two who had eaten there before and two first timers. Needless to say as one of the first timers my partner and I will definitely return. The menu is extensive, creative and above all delicious. Service is attentive and the timing impeccable. Serving size is spot on. The Fish coconut curry dip with sawtooth herb and a Vietnamese sesame rice cracker was a highlight as was the Smoked duck with a spicy seasonal fruit salad. Main course standouts were the Chicken and Sticky Rice and the Pork belly with chilli and herbs. Overall a great place to eat.

Wonderful food with incredible choice but the service is second to none. It is actually fine dining service. Who else changes every plate with every entrée choice? Perfect.

very enjoyable experience which was for an advanced valentine's day dinner with my partner. the food was excellent and so was the service. very good looking venue. we will definitely come back again.

The food is always great here and the service is too but disappointed that I asked for a table on the quieter ground floor when I booked over the quandoo website and was given one on the very noisy upper level. Made it hard to chat for our party of 6 so we didn't stay long, and we would certainly have, and spent more than $20 each if we had a quieter table.

The food was amazing but we had the worse service we have ever experienced in a reataurant. We had to ask for everything. Even the rice (which we ordered). This was our first time at the restaurant and will not be back. The waiter had no idea. Charging a premium price for food should equal excellent service. I was very disappointed.

Overall the food was good but the main courses were too sweet in flavour. A couple of items on the menu were not available. The restaurant is a little noisy as well.

Delicious food served with consideration and care. We had a gluten free diner and 2 vegetarians in our group, our waiter was very diligent about the food contents. lovely setting too.

Saturday nights appear to be very busy. It did take a while to be served, but once the good started coming out, everything was great

Food was as usual excellent, however, the service on this occasion was below par. I suspect the regular staff were on a well deserved holiday. It was difficult to the attention of the waiters.

Fabulous food, great new ideas. We stuck with starters this trip, then finished with great (strong) Viet coffee and wonderful Ice Cream Trio. Very attentive service, we'll be back.

The food was delicious. The only negative was that the staff forgot about the rice until after all the dishes came out, and we had to ask for it. Otherwise the service was friendly and polite. It can be bit noisy with the restaurant being busy and hard to hear fellow diners talking , but that is only for some of our dining party.

Lovely restaurant and beautiful tasty food . It was my bithday and they happily let us bring our own cake . Defiantly go back and try the deserts next time !

Bau Truong in Marrickville is a modern twist on traditional Vietnamese food. I have experienced consistently good food and service each time I've been. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We continue to love this local Vietnamese. Delightful friendly service - we had a late booking and even though they were cleaning up, they did not rush us as we lingered over a final conversation with friends. We also love their menu which offers interesting and unusual choices. And its BYO which is brilliant on a Saturday night. Our new favourite last night was the lemongrass pork on the bites menu. Well done team.

Great Service, friendly and helpful staff and great food too. They were also quite fast with the orders, but it was a weeknight and they weren't too busy.

The environment pleasant and quiet. The staff diligent and friendly. The waiting time for the food perfect to enjoy a quiet conversation with your friends. The food was of high quality in terms of freshness, taste and presentation, but be aware you will be presented with huge servings. Finally, the dessert can not be missed exotic wonderful tastes beautifully presented by them you know that you can share, and do not miss the cold Vietnamese coffee.

The food is always fresh, tasty and great combinations of flavours and textures. Our service was not quite as good as usual, but previous visits have been very positive.

Went to Bau Truong with friends on a Thursday night. The food was great and the service was excellent . Will definitely go there again.

Food and service was excellent, very busy night but food arrived quickly. Crab omelet ok, the rare beef salad, pepper and salt squid, caramelised fish, crispy skin chicken all excellent, spinach with crab sauce a bit gelatinous. Only problem was the noise level - - some soft furnishings needed to dampen down the noise.

The food was fantastic and service was great. Food came out very quickly and the staff were very friendly when taking orders and bringing food.

As always Bah Troung has great food, great ambiance and great staff. Special favourite is the deep fried fish. Looking forward to the next time we visit!

Excellent value for money with the banquet menu and the staff were very committed to helping us out with our large party and several alterations to the order to suit dietary requirements. Food was absolutely DELICIOUS! Don't go past the ribs, chicken or any of the nibbles menu.
