Tucked away down Bligh Place, Distro Du Peuple is a Mauritian-inspired cafe serving up authentic creole fusion food. Located in the heart of the financial precinct, Bistro Du Peuple is the perfect place for a number of different occasions, split into a couple of levels and even boasting an outdoor area. Try some gajak (small shareable plates of Mauritian cuisine) paired with some wine, or go all out with a traditional dish like the dholl puri (a traditional flat bread of Mauritius accompanied with rougaille, butterbean curry and achar) or the pulled pork burgers. To guarantee a table at Bistro Du Peuple in Melbourne’s CBD, making a reservation in advance is recommended.
A great find - Tapas was fantastic & great staff!
It was our first time trying this type of cuisine so we didn’t know what to expect. It was an interesting mix of Chinese, Indian, Mexican tapas style food which went with alcohol well. Staff was very helpful and friendly in explaining about the dishes. Thank you.
The meal I wanted wasn’t available even though the menu is very limited The wait staff could not provide advice on other options So we left
