More about the restaurant: Bosozoku

Bosozoku South Yarra is certainly one unique venue. This Melbourne spot combines karaoke, burgers, cocktails and an indoor spa and has one of the most electric vibes in the city. Owned and operated by the famous Bosozoku motorbike gang, Bosozoku began when this fun-loving gang of Japanese motorcycle and karaoke enthusiasts went into their traditional teppanyaki restaurant… and took it over by force. Since then, the Boso gang have been offering locals a mix of gourmet burgers, Japans (Japanese tapas) and an array of normal and obscure drinks. This vibrant space is sitting proudly on Chapel Street and is a colourful, pulsing home to a private games room with Nintendo 64, karaoke and a sunken booth steaming with dry ice. Yep, you read of all that right. The venue is designed with mismatched colours, textures and art which, oddly enough, matches the Bosozoku Melbourne menu perfectly. Feeling curious? You should be.

Thinking about making a Bosozoku booking?

Let’s delve a little deeper into Bosozoku Melbourne, shall we? In terms of food, we advise sampling a range of starters like edamame coated in spicy salt; the Japanese snack pack made up of karaage and fries with three different sauces – the Bosozoku take on a H.S.P – and gyoza filled with either pork, prawns or veggies. If you love gyoza as much we do, you’ll also want to keep an eye out for the all-you-can-eat gyoza. It’s worth it but be sure to arrive to this South Yarra venue as hungry as possible.

It simply wouldn’t be right to visit Bosozoku South Yarra and not tuck into one of the famous burgers. Served in a bento box, the menu is home to creative selections like die by the sword of fresh marinated swordfish served in a green tea bun; tonkatsu pork loin in a beetroot bun and the boss lobster with double-smoked bacon in a long bun. Wash it down with an ice cold Asahi from the tap; sake or cocktail and you’ve got yourself a night to remember, folks. So book a table or booth and settle in for a night of raucous behaviour and delicious Japanese food under the motorbike helmet disco ball at Bosozoku Melbourne. You’ll find it on Chapel Street in South Yarra – what are you waiting for?
