Quite a mouthful, this Indian restaurant in Dandenong. It’s best not to try and say Chandi Chowk Chaat Corner and Dhaba three times fast, and certainly not before you’ve swallowed your last forkful and washed the lot down with a slug of mango lassi. That said, bearing such a name indicates the authenticity at work in this Forster Street kitchen. Chicken, lamb, beef, seafood and vegetarian South Asian dishes are available in abundance from the menu, prepared according to various styles – kadai, korma, dopiaza, Madras, Kashmiri, vindaloo, masala – with plenty of specific regional options for you to explore. Located close to Dandenong train station, Chandi (for short) gets busy – so book!
The service here is friendly and the staff are nice. The food is tasty and location is good. Makes for an easy mid week feed.
