No fish in a japanese restaurant? We Asked for the tuna sashimi and barramundi but was not available...made me wonder what I would get if I ordered the sashimi or sushi moriwase...Also the pricemark was a bit steep for what we got, the prawn dumplims were nice but underseasoned and for a dish that claims ginger as a main ingredient, it was almost like a flavour afterthought. The homemade dipping sauce was ok. The grilled squid was tender but very bitter and underseasoned and with just with a bit of mayo with sichimi dusted on top. Those 2 dishes from the "menu plus 2 coktails ( a very spicy and off the bottle bloody mary and a non memorable waterd citrus something) for 63 dollars? The only justification I could find was the live music. The lady playing jazz was really good but because of the position of our table(behind the central pillar) and the fact that she was with her friends playing and singing with and for them, we felt like uninvited guests to a private function. This place could be awesome has all the stuff we like (cinema, music, outside sitting, etc) but feels like a lot of good ideas and good intentions but badly put together.

The food was very good, the service equally good with the added bonus of great entertainment provided by two lovely young people. I'd go again

Must go ... Lovely atmosphere - eclectic venue - divine Japanese cuisine - and brilliant jazz on Thursday nights from 7.30 to 9.30 pm! We'll be back to hear the voice of the angel Jay Dunne... Bravo!!!

We enjoyed the good food, intimate atmosphere. It was a Thursday night with a live band and they were awesome. We will be back! 😀
