We’ve been coming to Cookie for years now and last nights feed was amazing, great food and atmosphere! Staff lovely and accomodating as usual. Will be back soon
The food was excellent, a wide range of dishes & amazing flavours. The service outstanding, we basically discussed what we liked & didn't like with the waiter & then let him bring out dishes until we were full. We will be back!
I froth cookie - been there about 8 times now and slowly working my way through the menu. Fantastic staff, better cocktails and amazing food
Every dish we ordered was delicious, the staff were very attentive and knowledgeable and the atmosphere was fantastic. My friends and I had a great time and would go absolutely go again.
Sadly this visit to Cookie was a real let down. I have lost count of the number of times we have been to this restaurant and the number of friends and family members we've introduced to it. Never in 13 years have I had a disappointing experience here, but unfortunately, this was the day. Despite booking weeks in advance and requesting a secluded spot, we were automatically shown to the table right near the door. When I asked politely if there was another option, the maître d seemed put out and snooty and made a comment about us needing to be out by 8:00PM - which was our original booking slot. Disappointingly, they no longer have Leffe Blonde on tap and another beer by Leffe that was on the menu and ordered could then not be supplied. We were also charged for this on the bill and had to ask for a correction, given if it was $3.00 more than the beer that was eventually supplied. My husband loved his usual - the fish curry - and the cashew nut, tomato and cucumber salad was delicious and fresh. My drunken noodle favourite with minced pork and green chillis however, was scant on noodles and had huge chunks of egg throughout, so it really wasn't the normal perfectly balanced dish I know and love. After years of having the same loyal professional and amazing staff at Cookie, the last 6 times we've been, I haven't seen any of those wonderful people who made our experiences so special and went over and above to elevate the food and drink to a whole other level. It's such a shame. This one sorry episode won't in all likelihood keep us away, but it will push us to find some other favourites in the city and ones that value their loyal clientele.
How am I suppose to review this without being too negative...?! I Love Cookie, ALWAYS!!! But last night experience was a ZONK. It was quite terrible actually. Me and my friends arrived on time for our dinner reservation only to find out the waiter gave the table to other group. Her excuse was she called me to confirm my table and I didn’t pick up. (I’m at work) but I called Cookie back 4 times and nobody pick up. I’ve emailed the manager to confirm the table and she replied my email confirming my table. And still this waiter was blaming me for not picking up her phone, while every time I call back, no one answer. She laughed and smirk sarcastically & our ya in the bar seating area instead. The service was AMAZINGLY slow and arrogant. I’m confuse. This has never happen to be before in Cookie. What a major let down. Food as always tasty as ever. But your waiter and service?! Come on... you gotta keep the customer service on point... last night was uncool
This was my first time at Cookie but my partner has been here a few times in the past and I honestly thought he was exagerating when he told me how good the food was and how nice the staff were. Well he wasn't! And I lost a bet hahaha! The atmosphere was incredible despite the fact the power cut off for 2 minutes during our meal, the waitress we had offered us a free drink each for the trouble but we declined. After an incredible meal, 3 small dishes, 2 medium and 2 large, a lot of cider and fast service I will definitely be coming back here Also, our bill was only just over $100 for all of that plus our drinks and we drank a lot. I'll be back!
This is the place that is iconicly and the epitome of all things Melbourne. It's hip, it's eclectic, it's funky, with cool professional staff and a great mix of food from different cuisines, and a fantastic selection of drinks from local or international sources. The food is excellent, amongst a sea of patrons and vibe that cannot be matched anywhere else. This is the place u wanna go to impress friends visiting from overseas and want to experience Melbourne cuisine, or a date to show how cool u are. Rooftop bar is always the best around, whether u go beforehand or after dinner. There's no wonder why any cool young Melbournian would know Cookie. Oh, and I only rated the noise to be 3/5 because it's a happening atmosphere!
Great venue for a Sunday lunch. Not so busy when we went, which was perfect. I booked online but there would have been no wait anyway. Our group of 4 had the ground beef with chilli and basil, green curry with chicken dumplings, pad thai, green papaya salad, and ox tongue. All very flavoursome and tasty! Great range of drinks as well. Service was a tad slow but fine if you are in no rush. The food came out pretty quickly. It has been years since I visited Cookie last and it is great to see that it is still a quality restaurant!
Had the pleasure of revisiting Cookie for dinner. Arrived early and enjoyed drinks at the bar while waiting for our table. The food was better than ever, Lamb Penang Curry is a must and the Soft Shell Crab dish was out of this world. The staff have always been really good and again this time the service was excellent. Highly recommend Cookie.
