Found on Prahran’s Chapel Street, Good Luck Tea House has risen in the ranks, becoming one of Melbourne’s most revered Chinese restaurants. Offering dim sum galore as well as vegetarian, seafood, pork, lamb, chicken and seafood dishes, the restaurant offers a wide range of tasty options. Authentic and well-priced, Good Luck Tea House impresses even the most discerning Asian-food lovers. Situated just next to Bank of Melbourne, near where Chapel meets Carlton, this Chinese restaurant is as good as it gets.
Great food, great service. Very welcoming and genuine people who love their work. Dumplings were amazing. Chose this place before going to the theatre at Chapel Off Chapel and was very convenient.
Friendly attentive staff, great menu, yummy food and a very reasonable bill. A slightly expanded wine list would have given us a few more choices. Overall a very enjoyable evening!
The food was nice, quite tasty actuakly; but the service was absolutely awful. Food came out at separate times, my friend had finished her starter before I received mines. We had to ask for drinks etc; the only restaurant I've ever been in where they take your empty glass away and don't ask if you'd like another; your plates are also snatched from you as soon as it looks like you're finished. I think they knew we were unimpressed with the service, so they did offer a complimentary dessert which was lovely. I'd go back for the food though.
Pleasantly decorated with large red light fixtures and kitschy posters of Mao Zedong, Good Luck Tea House on Chapel Street provides guests with a charming environment for enjoying authentic Chinese flavours. Featuring amicable service, you’ll be treated just like family at this Melbourne restaurant, making it a comfortable place to visit any time hunger strikes. Despite being called a tea house, this Prahran restaurant is focused on Chinese traditional dishes above all.
Famous for their dim sum, Good Luck Tea House has mastered the art of Far Eastern cuisine. Sample and share options like chicken feet with black bean sauce, custard egg buns, pork and prawn dumplings, and BBQ pork buns, plus several more options. If you’re up for one of the main courses, you’ll have to make a difficult choice between dishes like stir-fried Chinese broccoli, sweet & sour pork, Mongolian lamb fillet or BBQ honey-glazed pork. Taste authentic Chinese the way it’s meant to be – reserve ahead for an incredible meal at Good Luck Tea House in Prahran.
