This, Hecho En Mexico North Brighton, is the newest restaurant of the group and you’ll find it on Bay Street, not far from North Brighton train station meaning it’s accessible from wherever you happen to be in Melbourne. The menu is Mexican-inspired, obviously, and it’s vast, offering high-quality as well as quantity. Whether you’re after something to satisfy those little Mexican cravings or something far more hearty, everything is fresh and delicious. Good quality mexican food, Nachos really tasty. Highlight of the meal was Spanish paella with prawns & choziro, magic dish & my mate would go back again for this. Main enchilada slightly over cooked. but nice filing & spicy sauce. Other dishes looked ok, faijatas pretty light on for chicken, lots of onion & capsicum. Drinks & service constant. Nice touch bringing out spanish donuts & a candle for my daughters 13th birthday & a song.
As is the way with all the Hecho En Mexico restaurants in Melbourne, the North Brighton restaurant is vibrant both in terms of decor as well as atmosphere. As such, expect lots of colour, lots to look at and indeed a very warm Mexican welcome–probably the most exciting spot on Bay Street, we must say. Get the ball rolling perhaps with a few sips of sangria or a cool imported beer. Sit, chat and soak up the vibes before you eventually get around to deciding what you’d like to eat. As we said, the menu offers plenty for little cravings and even more for larger appetites. The choice, folks, belongs to you.
The chilli fries at Hecho En Mexico North Brighton are a dream–literally, it’s tough to keep the drool inside your mouth–and the little rolled up taquitos are worth a pop as well. You’ll struggle to go wrong with classic fish tacos (they’re gluten-free) owing to the dollop of aioli they’re served with and the fact they’re brimming with beautifully barbecued black beans. Main dishes consist of the usual Mexican suspects: enchiladas, quesadillas, burritos, chimichangas, yep, yep, yep. Once tucked into all of this you’ll soon see why there’s more than one Hecho En Mexico in Melbourne and why this one in North Brighton is such a success – the food is outrageous in every single way.
