Really good food. The enchilada and chili change were very tasty. Great service. We enjoyed our visit.

The food was very good but the service was terrible. The girl who sat us (colombian? Black tshirt) was completely disinterested, gave the “welcome to hecho…” speech in a monotone voice whilst looking out past us at other people walking by, gave no explanation of the menu, just that she would come back to take our order. She asked us what type of table water we would like but never actually delivered any water to our table. The other girl (maybe french, floral shirt) took our order for mains and was much more friendly and engaging. One complaint I have about the menu is how many items have corn sprinkled over the top. The menu describes this as “mango and corn salsa, etc” but on the beef taco there was a clear distinction between the blob of yummy mango and the same corn that was sprinkled on everything else. I dont eat corn so I had to pick it off Everything (even sprinkled over the chicken wings for some reason?) because I believed it was part of the salsa but in hind sight I clearly could have asked for the corn to be on the side of everything. I would 100% try another Hecho en Mexico somewhere else in Australia and request menu changes but just not the one in Cairns…

Margaritas were very average and served in a thumbnail. As for the food, well let's say learn how to cook Mexican! We are locals and had friends from Victoria, we were embarrassed but they understood we had not been here before so weren't to know it was not good. We will not be coming back.

Meal was just ok. Entree chips and dip was definitely a disappointment. For $14 there was literally about 10 corn chips on the plate and mains lacked seasoning and was rather bland. Had much better Mexican elsewhere especially for the price

The staff did not know how to do their job. The food was dreadful. This is our second visit. The Californian burrito had no sauce and was dry, not to mention smaller portion sizes this time around. I ordered the paella and for $35 got 4 prawns and 4 pieces of chicken on a bed of rice and corn that was too salty to eat. Our table needed a foot to hold it in balance the entire time we were there. The cups were dirty and not once did a waitress check on us or even deliver our bill. We weren’t even asked if we had a nice meal. We won’t be back again. I don’t think they will be in business much longer if this is how they treat their customers.

Waitresses need to listen when ordering entrees as a main meal and not bring them out with the entree. Otherwise, it was a great meal.

food was tasty! we got charged for sour cream that never arrived presumed it didnt make it on the order but realized after that it did. The receipt was quite complicated to understand. Weekend surcharge was disappointing. Overall the price of the food plus the surcharge made for a very expensive meal - we wont return for this reason.
