Given the current climate surrounding COVID-19, many authorities are placing restrictions on social gatherings. In the best interest of everyone’s safety, we are continuously updating the availability of our partner restaurants to reflect these measures. If you’ve had your fair share of Asian cuisine and find yourself becoming bored with the same ol’ same, we’ve got a tip for you: head down to Hooking Bar and Restaurant on High Street in Kew East and prepare to embark on an unforgettable flavour trip. This Asian restaurant seems to have it all, showcasing dishes from all over the Far East. From Chinese dim sim to vegetarian Singapore noodles and Nasi goreng, the menu is chock-full of the best dishes that Asia has to offer. We recommend any of the seafood dishes like the pan fried tooth fish, wasabi mayonnaise prawns or stir-fried scallops with seasonal vegetables. There’s a lot more to discover here at Melbourne’s Hooking Bar and Restaurant, but be sure to book ahead to avoid queuing!

The restaurant is nicely appointed and the food is of a good standard. I’m sure the atmosphere would be more energetic if the current situation were different for Chinese restaurants. I hope people wake up soon and recognise the value Chinese cuisine offers us.
In future we probably would not choose the Dim Sum Banquet. Some courses not to our liking. Rather choose an entree and main. Service was rather rushed towards the end of the meal as they seemed to want to close up.
Good value and nice food. Quality service by staff. Recommend
