So, what should you be expecting when you dine in La Porchetta South Yarra? Well, firstly the quintessential La Porchetta hospitality is one of the most defining and impressive elements to this Melbourne restaurant, with the team going above and beyond. And then, there’s the food. Oh, the food. We recommend kickstarting your Italian fiesta with starters that include salt and pepper calamari served with a zesty lemon dressing; cheesy garlic bread topped with butter, herbs and mozzarella cheese and Sicilian-style arancini balls coated in breadcrumbs and served golden brown with a flavoursome Bolognese sauce.
For the main event – by the way, you’ll want to arrive pretty hungry – pizza lovers should get all around the eggplant and ricotta pizza from Sicily topped with mozzarella, Italian provolone cheese and fresh basil or the marinara made with mussels, garlic, olives, prawns and mozzarella. Meanwhile, pasta fans should be sure to check out the pescatore pasta loaded with fresh seafood in a Napoletana sauce or the pesto gnocchi served with fresh parmesan. With plenty of meat, chicken and seafood main meals, as well as vegetarian and gluten-free selections, it’s easy to see why South Yarra’s La Porchetta is a Melbourne dining institution. Head to Toorak Road and treat yourself. Buon Appetito!
