Magic Mountain Saloon

Had dinner here on a Tuesday night and had a great evening. The food is excellent, the cocktails are fabulous and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The music can be a little loud though.

Once we finally sat down at table very attentive staff. However Lamb not cooked enough - very fatty pieces in dish. Not enough water to table. Asked numerous times and on one occasion 2 of 4 guest glasses were filled. Then had to ask again. Should have had a jug of water on the table. Asked to vacate table when hadn't finished meal. After some negotiation were able to stay at table. Plates taken from table too quickly and on one occasion had to ask for more utensils to finish desert as these had been cleared away. Not delivered after a long wait so found extras outselves. Dissappointed.

Another great lunch at Magic Mountain. This is my 4th visit (have also done breakfast and dinner) and it has not failed to please every time. Ordered my favourite green prawn and kingfish starter. Still very intensely flavoured, although it was oily today. We had the holy trinity grill and that was sensational as well. Perfectly grilled prawns, very tasty & spicy sausages and perfectly cooked and smokey filet Mignon. Accompaniments were good as well although a little more salad would be nice considering there was a lot of protein! But not something I would complain about. Desserts of pumpkin brulee and Thai crepe cake still as good as my last visit. Coffee could have been better although if it had been truly a Thai restaurant (run & staffed by Thais), I would have said it was excellent, haha! Good espresso coffee is a rarity in Asian restaurants/cafes. Service was also excellent! Highly recommended.

Food was very tasty and the drinks were superb in an atmospheric environment. We loved it and will definitely be back in the near future.

Buzzy and fun plus great food and excellent service. Would definitely go back again especially for the pork scratchings. It was a lovely warm haven on a cold Melbourne night.

Bit disappointed with the food and service at Magic Mountain. I made my booking for 8pm and we didn't get seated until 8:15. The pork belly was tough and almost inedible. When the food got served the staff didn't take the empty drinks/bowls until we asked them to so we had to move the dirty plates to the side board after they had been sitting there for half an hour. We were tucked away in the corner so an easy table to miss and I understand it was busy, but for a restaurant charging $35 for a curry it's still no excuse.

Amazing food! Good service. Quite spicy, if you don't like chili probably not a place for you. I will go again next time I'm in Melbourne.

The staff is very friendly, food is delicious and the environment is warm and inviting. The meal was a bit pricey, but worth it overall.

This was a great place to have dinner, drinks pricey, but the rest good value. I cam here with a group of work colleagues, I would do it again

Best Thai restaurant in City Area! The Beef Basil Cheeks are amazing, the meet are so tender and flavour just hits the right spot of tongue.

Worst service I've had in Melbourne. Will not be recommending to anyone. Waiter was untrained, no idea about the food and served the wine without asking who was having a glass..

The food was good, but the music was too loud making it very difficult to have any conversation. The service was friendly and competent but slowed as night went on.

The food was top notch Thai, authentic flavours and ingredients. I was told the chefs are all Thai. The staff could not have been more attentive or helpful. I'll be back.

I went to Magic M on Saturday night to catch up with a couple of friends. We got a table at the top level which was perfect, it's the most fun and 'happening' area of the restaurant with a long bar and neon on the wall.Great atmosphere, service and food! Loved it!

We thought the service was very good, the food was good and the loudness of the music was just too high for us. The table was right under a speaker and loudness spoiled our experience at the restaurant. Your staff tried to relocate us but nothing was available. The sound level was 95db...outside the safe level. Maybe we were in a bad spot or maybe we are the wrong demographic.

We were very impressed with Magic Mountain Saloon. The food was delicious and the staff were fantastic! Highly recommend this place for lunch, dinner and drinks.

Fantastic. The food was all amazing. Definitely try the soft shell crab! Service was very attentive without being intrusive. Will be back again for sure.

Wonderfully different foods full of new and varied flavours. Just watch out for the chilli! Can be over the top and almost ruin the night.

The atmosphere of the saloon was cool and funky- the bar staff very welcoming, food waiters- have great knowledge about menu- food was delicious and so filling! Will definitely go back for more!

Great modern Thai food and equally good service. Music was a bit loud but ok with the mood. A good selection of cocktails. Will certainly go again.

As always outstanding food, the service and staff really made for an exquisite experience. Can't wait to go back and try the sticky beef ribs as they ran out this time. 10/10 would eat again

Handy booking online, actually called us to offer an earlier spot too which worked well. Service was fantastic and the place has such a great vibe, the food and menu is amazing and has a nice bar setup and menu to kick on after the meal.

The food is fantastic and there's a great little wine and beer list. It's probably not for those that can't handle their spicy food though!

Snow White cocktail, spinach dumplings, beef cheek and duck noodles were all amazing. Will be back! Pork belly fingers were our least favourite. Fast service.

The food is outstanding but it's not the place to go for a chat. Music is too loud. I know that sounds ridiculous but it doesn't make for a relaxing night out over dinner.

The staff were efficient and friendly. The food (chicken ribs) was good, the dessert (thai tea crepe cake) amazing and cocktails (Figurehead Sour & Sky was Pink) excellent.

The food here is of a very high quality with lots of great choices. The range of cocktails is very different and reasonable value. I have been here previously and will certainly return.
