As the name suggests, this cosy Adelaide restaurant is the place to go to experience the flavours of the Mediterranean. Dishing up a combination of cuisine from Greece, Lebanon and Italy, the menu features an array of mezza plates, perfect for sharing around the table with family or friends, as well as pizza and charcoal-grilled meats. Located on Melbourne Street in North Adelaide, Mediterranean Mezza is a neighbourhood favourite – make a reservation in advance to score the perfect table.
The place is stuck in the 80s and the service is pretty basic. But the server was very sweet and concerned to make sure we enjoyed our meal. This place gets a high rating for the quality and taste of their food - the lamb was the best I've had in years and the falafel plate was delicious.
Food was good but disappointing as I expected something more in line with the style the Café presents so if you like run of the mill Aussie fare it is ok. Male waiter didn't have a clue what he was doing but was polite.
Decorated in a traditional style, this quaint cafe and restaurant brings the relaxed Mediterranean culture to Adelaide. With long banquet-style tables, North Adelaide’s Mediterranean Mezza is a great location for dining as a large group, and the small mezza-style dishes are perfect for a good old communal fest. To begin with, we recommend ordering up a number of dishes to share, but with so many delicious choices on the menu you may still struggle to choose!
Some of the options here at Mediterranean Mezza include makanek (Lebanese sausage), kebbeh (balls of minced lamb and crushed wheat, stuffed with coarse meat, herbs and served with yoghurt) and garlic bread topped with cheese. Then you could move on to a gourmet Italian pizza, like the House Special topped with tomato, cheese, salami, feta cheese, fresh tomatoes, roasted capsicum, kalamata olive and fresh basil, a Lebanese shawarma sandwich, or some charcoal-grilled kebabs – Mediterranean Mezza on North Adelaide’s Melbourne Street has something to suit all tastes.
