Merah

First time at Merah and was very pleased! Lovely atmosphere and the food was excellent. Had the special chicken laksa and beef vindaloo which both were rich and spicey. Perfect for a winter meal. Will come back for sure.

We love Malaysian food and Merah met all our expectations - the rendang was amazing - the meat just falling apart. The roti was wonderfully flaky and hot. The laksa's curry was spot on with the right combination of prawns, noodles, tofu +++. Highly recommended with great service - would definitely go there again.

I have been wanting to try Merah for some time and I was not disappointed. The food was so fresh and warming, generous and flavoursome. I can't wait to return!

Excellent malaysian food ,in a stylish venue Strangely, hard to find in Melbourne, despite the large malaysian Chinese population Pleasant space, good service. Worth the journey.

Lovely dinner. 3 small dishes and 2 larger for 3 people was just right. Great flavours, fresh, not too spicey. Only criticism is the bench seat was quite uncomfortable..... will definitely go back but will request a seat with a back on it.....!

Grilled prawns were dry,overcooked & left charred residual taste. Crab bao & fried chicken were bland even with kelantan mayo. Roti too greasy. Only dishes enjoyed were curry puffs & rendang. Overall expensive dishes & left feeling unsatisfied & hungry. Would not recommend.

I ordered the beef rendang, nasi lemak, and fried chicken. The portion of all dishes was good but quite pricey. E.g. Nasi lemak was especially expensive considering that it doesn't have meat on it (just the usual peanuts, cucumber, eggs, sambal, and rice). If you want to be surprised by what you already knew about traditional Malaysian cuisine, go to Merah for the 'modern Malaysian' food experience.

Merah was a delight! Beautiful interior, attentive service, and the food was amazing. I booked a table for a date, and it was perfect! Quiet enough to really chat, bustling enough to ease any awkward silences. Defs would recommend.

Merah's food was a fusion approach to Malaysian food. Everything here was great, being Malaysian myself I loved it. I'd definitely come back.

Great food! Ordered almost the entire menu and there wasn’t a duff meal! Everyone at our table loved it. Only criticism was the rather large bill at the end of the evening.

Great flavorsome food, with lovely service. Newly built dining area makes the mood very comfortable and warm. Would recommended Merah to anyone and definitely eat there again.

The food was amazing, we had a great night and will definitely eat there again. We ate a few of the small meals and felt we were able to experience a lot of what they have on offer.

Great food and service. Plenty of vegan options. They recommend sharing dishes which is a good idea but in practice are not assembled in a share friendly manner. Everything we had was delicious though

So good, was surprised that I could get such good quality Malaysian food locally. Super friendly service too with some great recommendations from the staff. Would go back soon.

Great little restaurant. Food was very tasty and service was very attentive.The beef rendang was especially delicious and we also enjoyed the chicken satay and the pipis. I would definitely go back.
