Miss Kasumi is an attractive restaurant, and while the food is of good quality I don't think its value for money. Food came out in bits and pieces. I had asked the waitress to serve the food together as there were four of us and we wanted to share. She had agreed and then completely ignored our request. For me the whole service was disjointed and we won't be returning YR
Food is nice, not enough greens. Veggie eaters for much choice.
Food is nice and well presented. The venue itself is also well presented with good decor. However the customer service let the dining experience down. They were rude, one guest was slightly early before opening and the staff told off the guest it was not yet open and walked off? Could have offered to sit a the bar or something more friendly? Also there were a number of waiting staff but not well placed or trained requiring us to go out of our way to draw their attention (to get soy sauce for a sashimi dish).
If you’re planning a visit to Miss Kasumi Kew, you are in for a real treat. This bright and airy Japanese eatery on Kew’s High Street is one of our favourite spots for fresh, flavoursome sushi in Melbourne. The atmosphere at Miss Kasumi Contemporary Japanese Restaurant & Bar has to be one of our favourite things about the place, and it’s all down to the fun and friendly staff who greet you upon entry. What’s more, anyone obsessed with Japanese food and the craft that goes into creating perfect sushi can sit at the bar and watch the skilled sushi chefs in action.
But enough about all that kind of stuff… What about the food?! No matter what you’re in the mood for, the menu at this Kew hotspot is sure to impress. Kick things off with some fresh sushi and sashimi in the form of nigiri with tuna belly, salmon maki and some kingfish sashimi. Then, for the main event how about some miso lobster with lobster tail, mixed mushroom, ginger root and truffle miso? Or, perhaps, some teriyaki chicken with micro greens? Melbourne foodies are very lucky to have Miss Kasumi Contemporary Japanese Restaurant & Bar, that’s for sure!
