At Tasmania’s The New Sydney Hotel, traditional decor and quintessentially Australian pub grub combine with live music and entertainment to create one of Hobart's most popular gastropubs. Priding themselves on the fact they don’t have any tv’s, a jukebox or pokies, it’s all about enjoying time in good company with equally as good food and drinks. Try some delicious finger food like the crispy pig’s ears served with duck salt and sriracha mayonnaise, gather up your mates and tuck into some slow-cooked lamb shoulder made to be shared around the table, or feast on a hearty main course dish like the poached salmon with fennel, kohlrabi, wasabi and parsnip. With thirteen beers on tap and an extensive range of craft beers, making it a favourite among local foodies and beer enthusiasts alike. Book a table and head on over to Bathurst Street now!
This place really buzzes. Terrific atmosphere, busy, busy in the best way. Food is great, generous serves. Service is prompt and friendly. Interesting people seem to frequent this hotel. Open fire and mead available in the winter. Well worth the experience.
