Okami - Hoppers Crossing

The food was excellent and the service was great. My only slight complaint was the restaurant was very loud and could really use some sort of noise dampening.

Booked for 2nd session on a Friday Night. Considering the place was almost packed, we were really surprised how fast and well prepared the food came out and the quality of the food and presentation was still excellent.

first time to visit new Okami in Hoppers Crossing, food is good. However, the restaurant is too noisy, and sometimes the staff are too busy to cover the service.

Food was great, service was kinda slow, but they are a new restaurant and staff are still learning.

Don't be alarmed that first order takes a while to come. A two hour sitting is more than enough as next orders are much quicker. It's a great concept and very reasonably priced. Not 'fine dining' but was good value. Would go back as only tried about 1/4 of the dishes with two sharing 👍

Food was great, definitely would go back. Service was disappointing. They definitely needed more wait staff on the floor. Only two waiters for the place and it was fairly busy.

We enjoyed most of the food, but were disappointed at not being told that if you wanted Tuna with the sushi and sashimi , you had to ask. We did spend a lot of time waiting for some dishes, up to 15 minutes for one. Overall not bad value but a single pot of tea should not be tea for two and was over priced. Will give it a second chance in a couple of months. Not enough desert choices, my partner did not enjoy the ice cream which also took a long time to come out.

The food was fantastic...! The saki was warm...! The service was friendly and prompt...! The restaurant was packed! Overall we were very impressed with Okami! A dining experience you would expect from an inner city restaurant, without having to travel into the city! And ridiculously cheap for the amount we ate! Big props to the team at Okami, will definitely be back soon, 10/10!!!

We booked a table and although we arrived on time, we had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. Once seated, we did not receive menus or any acknowledgement for another 20 minutes. After noticing that not a lot of tables has their food and not being served, we decided to leave. Now, I believe it was their opening week, so I’m willing to give them another go. I was a regular at the Footscray Okami and love it there. This one has more of a modern vibe and there are a lot of seats. I think in this case, it was a matter of them just not being prepared for their opening, they needed more staff.

Instead of getting our food what we ordered all together, we got one small plate every 15 minutes. Not enough staff and too slow!
