As we arrived, we were already being told about leaving and rushed into ordering. The waitress struggled to understand us, which made it difficult. The mild base, was not mild at all, in fact it was too hot for all 8 of us and we had to leave this, just used the tomato base. Menu said, order 3-4 dishes per person, we did this and got told it was too much, the chef altered our order, which turned out a good choice. It would have been better to just say, order a number of dishes to share, as there was no way you could know which was your order/choice - once its in the base its a free for all on pulling out food. Overall - Disappointed as I was expecting much better.
Food was ok, nice decoration but bad management. Pushing customers to order everything within 30 mins and cannot order anything after that even drinks
Couple times we couldn’t find the waitress to order more food. The music in the restaurant is way too loud that we can’t even hear each other talking
Food was good and the interior was beautiful. I expected a bigger performance by the actor.
Really delicious food in a very grandly decorated restaurant. It was a little pricier than many other hotpot places, but that's what you have to pay towards the $16m renovation I guess.
Awesome place to visit and experience with friends! Venue is exceptional and service is fantastic. The food itself is very tasty and the menu allows you to order to your taste buds. Warning for those that aren't crazy about spice, ask for the broth to be "mild mild", as we found that mild was still quite hot !!
Very friendly and attentive service. Place is magical, feels like transported to dynasty era.
great services, nana is best manager being very helpful thanks
Amazing decor. Fab food. But considering other hot pots in Melbourne, this is very expensive!!!
Sauces were not refilled. Services lacking short of staffs. Setting of dining table and chairs were impractical how do they expect someone tall to sit. Chopsticks size not practical either, lengthy not suitable for feeding. Won't return nothing spectacular apart from the grand entry
They only give us an hour to finish all the meal, then we have waited for a half-hour to get the hot pot, they ask us to pay first then leave in another half-hour. Ridiculous!
Very good service! Great experience! The restaurant is beautiful! We enjoyed our dinner to the fullest!
Pretty good experience overall. Food items are a bit pricy though
the food is good, the spices are great. the minor issue i had was how to cook certain food.... especially the meat with milk in it...
$150+ for a bowl of soup w/minimal ingredients there are better value places out there.we all left hungry wont be back sorry.
Food quality was average. High end hotpot prices. That’s acceptable if the overall dining experience is positive, which it wasn’t. We were not advised At the time if booking that for a 1pm booking we had to place our food order by 1:15pm so no scope for ordering more later. We were told this as we sat down and felt so much pressure to rush our order through. Then at 1:30pm I was given the bill to check. And ten minutes later was asked to go to the till, queue and pay while I was in the middle of eating. At 2:40pm when we still had a lot of food left, we were told we had 5 minutes to finish up. Knowing how much we’d ordered I would have hoped that staff would have advised we didn’t have time to cook and eat so much. I questioned and said we were led to believe we had until 3pm and were told the premises had to be empty by 3pm. So we panicked and felt pressured and then had to ask for takeaway boxes. We were not offered them when we were given our 5 minute warning. The staff do not explain things well in English. The decor is like being in a Disney theme park. Fun but unnecessary. At $300 for 4 people it was not a pleasant or positive experience. Definitely not value for money. I’d stay away and stick to other places for hotpot.
Very friendly service, good food and very nice decor. Highly Recommended.
Last minute booking, only late spots available but restaurant wasn't very busy. Food and service good but should include the sauce bar
Amazing decor, quality food, great service! I definitely will come back again.
Soup base was decent. Ingredients were good. Decor is astounding.
We enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff. Beautiful environment. Exciting concept. Our problem was the food was too oily and hot spicy for a first-time eater of Hot Pot, even though we told our server we wanted mild - so we got half mild and half HOT. It is a place and a type of food that one needs to "learn" how to eat happily for one's personal taste and stomach. We will return and then order very carefully.
Every thing is fine except the meal time limit. Should be at least make it 2.5 hours section .
the place is over rated. only good is the design
Food was good but the service was a little poor. This is mainly because none of the staff member could hardly speak English. The menu needs a little update....it doesn’t tell you the portion sizes. Instead it tells you how long it has to be cooked for. Other than that, the atmosphere is great and is build for small and large group and special occasions. Insta-able.
Great atmosphere good food timely service recommend book in advance
The inside of the restaurant is beautifully set up to give you an impression of dining in old China. My only qualm was the music played through the speakers (American R&B/pop), which breaks the theme. Fantastic service by staff. Food came out quick. Reservations recommended.
Good authentic food, great customer service, amazing decor, one of the best hotpot in Melbourne
Nice atmosphere, good service, friendly staff. Would have loved more dish choices
Awesome! Nice environment, taste and performance with traditional Chinese style.
very tranditional Sichuan style hotpot, clean and tasty, will be back again
Great experience, we will return for some more great Hotpot!
Loved the decor , food was good , semi enclosed rooms give just enough privacy.
The food was overall good but the service was terrible. They brought us the wrong soups, then took it away and took 20 mins to bring the right one. In the meantime we had all the raw food that needed to be cooked and nothing to cook it in. We had also ordered a fried rice which eventually came 20 mins after we had finished everything else and had to ask 5 differant staff for it.
Great atmosphere- well done with the theme. Food looked great and tasty.
the food was ok nothing special, I fount the small floor show was interesting
Slow service, dirty glasses, no green tea (they ran out), kicked out after 2h despite being told we would have time to have birthday cake, told we could have 14% discount for birthday celebration but the 14% discount was only on a few vegatables rather than whole bill. Overrated and disappointing.
Overrated Overpriced And mediocre Would not return if I was forced again to be honest
Great place to chill out with family and friends. None of the frozen ingredients and smiley servers makes this place a cut above.
The food was great , the atmosphere and the view are perfect , we were happy but something happened at the end , we had not finished the dinner yet but the staff asked us to pay and served other customers .
The food and service were great. The mushroom hotpot is super delicious. Love the decoration relating to my favorite novel. However, it was just no aircon inside, super hot with summer and hotpot together.
