Melbourne is one of the great cafe culture cities of the world. Few places can claim to take as much pride in their coffee as the Victorian capital, and up in Flemington, they are no different. Rye Cafe in the Showgrounds Village on Epsom Road – close to Flemington Racecourse – serve up a huge range of coffees and teas, as well as a menu that offers everything a hungry Aussie could want. The Tradie Brekky is the classic combo of bacon and egg roll with a coffee, and the more health conscious can opt for smashed avocado with goats cheese on toasted sourdough, a Moroccan lamb salad or even a Wagyu beef burger with cheese, caramelised onions and beetroot. Move along to Rye Cafe on Epsom Road for an Australian cafe feed to remember – just make sure you book a table first, though, as they can get busy.
staff and food were great. was a slight delay in getting our order, but is was really busy, so that's fine. Would recommend for anyone who needs a good breakfast before a day at a Melbourne showgrounds event.
