Salt Meats Cheese - South Bank

They were very welcoming and the food very fulfilling - so much we struggled but it was all worth it for the unique experience of high cheese.

we’ve been to the Bowen Hills SMC before and had a fantastic time. The menu was great and there was plenty to chose from. We wanted to try south bank as it was closer to us but were disappointed by the lack of options and thought the price was a little high for the food provided. Staff were great but I don’t think we’ll be back anytime soon.

Cheese wheel disappointing, small portion for price. Paying surcharges ridiculous.

Hospitable staff, service was on-point great ambience although the lighting was a little on the dimmer side, food was very tasty and portions were perfect. Favourite dishes were the crab tagliolini and supper truffle bros pizza.

Food tasted good. However, had to wait over half an hour for food to arrive at the table.

Cheese is the best. Awesome cocktails. Bring all your friends.

Served by 4 different people even though the restaurant wasn't busy. Very odd way to interact with customers.

The food, menu and wine offerings were great. It was a little noisy to have a conversation past immediate people on the table but had a nice vibe.

Not much variety in the All You Can Eat feast, but very good quality food.

Good food but the manager ( or person in charge that night) and staff got much less friendly as the night progressed. Fee's were charged to everybody paying on card ??without the option to pay savings or debit - this was 50c per person which seems ridiculous and there was no sign to say this was going to be the case, the cost was murmured to you right before he ran your card through. The person taking our money was less than friendly and based on the staff alone i wouldn't go back

My girlfriend and I and her 2 kids had dinner here. Food was excellent. I proposed to my girlfriend. Staff provided free champagne and chocolates-wow!! , Very special night in a great restaurant !

Unfortunately very disappointed overall. Appalling service and wait time for food was unacceptable and didn’t receive what we ordered. Have dined at Gasworks restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed food and service. South Bank restaurant was nothing like our Gasworks experience. Would not recommend.

We will be back. Our experience was great, service was prompt and efficient. Staff were personable and helpful. Food was fabulous.

Food and service were excellent, the only negative being that the air conditioning was not turned on, making the room stuffy and warm. It was finally turned on as we were leaving.

Arrived on time (5.30pm), stated booking. Was not asked for name. Led by waitress 1 to a table near the back, which was fine,as the place was nearly empty. Menus took a while to come and were brought by waitress 2. Was offered a "taster" of 2 wines by waitress 3, which never arrived. Waitress 4 arrived to take order, did not ask if we wanted a starter, or vegetables. We asked her for the taster wines which she brought, and we chose a wine. Food arrived. Salmon was fine, lamb neck was tough and tasteless. Waitress 2 arrived as we took our first mouthful to ask how the food was. Waitress 3 arrived at 6.55pm as we were finishing the meal, to ask if we wanted more wine, which we would have, but it was too late by then as we had tickets for a 7.30pm show and were ready to leave. On paying, waitress 4 asked how our 'experience' was, so I politely told her that it could have been a lot better and why. Her response? "Oh we've been under the pump". This was rubbish, as the restaurant was almost empty when we arrived, though the bar was busy, and the restaurant was filling up before we left. The level of service was simply not up to scratch for what I assume is supposed to be a high end establishment, based in The Mantra hotel. The lamb dish was also not really acceptable.

Vibe is good but menu is significantly smaller than the other SMC locations, staff were pleasant enough but were incorrect about the menu as we asked for a particular item but was later informed it wasn’t available and had to change. Tables were a bit strange but Nona big deal..

The wait staff were very friendly and helpful in terms of making decisions about what to order. The food was delicious and there was a quick turn around between the meals. Would highly recommend their pasta!

Good food & fast service for a pre-theatre dining experience

Shame it wasnt busier as the atmosphere was a little quiet. Food was good but could have been hotter. Service was very attentive.

High Cheese...yes please!!! Highly recommend! Take the bottomless Prosecco option, too and you’ll have the recipe for a perfect afternoon! Service was brilliant! We’ll be back.

Drinks at the bar were fantastic. I felt over an hour wait for food was too long when it wasn't crowded.

Unfortunately this was very disappointing. Was hoping for a unique Italian experience however this is a chain and felt like a fancy version on McDonald’s. Staff had no knowledge of cheeses or wines, table service was scarce and food was average at best. A shame because the name sounds so good!

Arancini balls were divine, I think the risotto needed something more though, like pumpkin or broccolini. Customer service was excellent !

Good food in a beautiful stylish venue. A bit noisy, which makes table conversations a bit challenging when sitting with 8 at a straight table. The service was friendly enough, once you managed to catch their attention. Beautiful wines and cocktails. The deserts deserve a special compliment, these were absolutely devine.

I've visited Salts meat and cheese at Gas works previously and had a great experience. Unfortunately this establishment the service staff let the food down.

Nice decor and welcoming place, food was decent but lacked and real flavour. Host service was exceptional then followed by fairly average but pleasant service. Not a great deal of menu choice. Nice but definitely not fabulous.

The pizza was covered in oil and all the toppings slide off wasn’t even cooked all the way through and was saggy couldn’t even eat it. Also got squid in calarmari no idea why

Was great for a large group, food came out quickly. Slightly smaller pasta portions than you would expect.

We had a great experience tonight at Salts Meats Cheese.

We ordered the special- truffle ricotta ravioli in burnt butter and sage with grilled asparagus and Poppy seeds- firstly wasn't burnt butter, there was no asparagus and pasta was undercooked.

Fantastic food with a relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend this place.

Terrible! The food had zero taste, I ordered gluten free but they clearly didn’t bring it and I got a stomach ache from the wheat. We had to ask 3 times for table water and still didn’t get it. Overpriced food with terrible service.

Service with the drinks was not very good, had to ask after 20min where our drinks where and had they made them or had they forgotten the order.
