Silo Restaurant and Lounge

It doesn’t take long to see why Silo Restaurant and Lounge is one of the most popular harbourside spots in Newcastle. Just a stone’s throw from the Newcastle CBD on Honeysuckle Drive, this bar and restaurant has awesome waterfront views and an even better atmosphere. They also do a great cocktail and stock some excellent beers, wines and spirits – but it’s the food we really want to talk about. Pity we don’t have more time, because there’s a lot to talk about: a breakfast menu ranging from healthy to hearty, classic Australian to globally inspired (why not start the day with a croque madame?), lunches like slow-braised beef cheek, pea and mushroom risotto, lamb loin salad with quinoa or the chef’s selection of fresh seafood. Dinners are particularly special at Silo Restaurant and Lounge, featuring Grainge Eye beef fillet, shallot tarte tartin with goat’s cheese, kingfish fillet, roasted duck breast, and vanilla bean crème brûlée or chocolate fondant to round things off beautifully.
