The Eastern concept and philosophy of tao – ‘the way’ or ‘path of life’ – gives itself to the title of this family of pan-Asian restaurants scattered about Perth like so many cherry blossoms. Tao Café’s Subiaco branch, in the heart of the entertainment quarter just west of the CBD, serves locals a signature blend of Japanese cuisine, including freshly made sushi-train sushi and sashimi, Thai, Vietnamese and other Asian delicacies, from slick premises on Subiaco Square Road. If you’re really into your Japanese cuisine, you’ll love the teriyaki chicken and tempura. A truly serene and satisfying casual dining experience, Tao Café’s popularity demands an advance booking.
Spacious venue with the option of seating at the sushi train or in a booth. Good food and friendly staff!
Easy to book online. Was expecting the usual sushi restaurant but was pleasantly surprised by the array of dishes available-Thai, Vietnamese & Japanese. We ordered the pho beef noodles & a large bowl came out with all the condiments. The flavours were true to taste. Also ordered the Thai salad-there was more chicken than salad. Not sure if it's a good thing or not. But throughly enjoyed the lunch. Planning to return again.
The food was very nice, with great portion sizes. Lots of room, but table layout does make it difficult to host more than 6 in a group without being quite separated. Luckily for us we had 6 so could fit in a cubicle - so for those reading this, 8 or so - may be difficult.
