For one of the tastiest Thai experiences that Richmond has to offer, head on over to Church Street where you’ll find Thai Ayothaya, a laidback Thai eatery serving up all of the time-honoured traditions and Thai favourites. No matter if you’re a fan of seafood, a meat lover or vegetarian, you’ll find plenty of choices on the menu at Thai Ayothaya. Some of our favourite dishes include the massaman curry with potato and onion, the barbecued beef marinated in Thai spices, the tamarind prawns (battered prawns with Thai-style sweet tamarind sauce, served on a bed of mixed vegetables). To guarantee a table at Melbourne’s Thai Ayothaya, making a reservation in advance is recommended.

Quiet restaurant - in fact, we were literally the only people there for our 6.45pm reservation on a Thursday night. When I first entered, there was no one out to greet me. It did mean that it's a quiet place to chat and catch up with friends though. Our foods arrived promptly and they also gave us a tray of chilli condiments to our request. Food was okay, not fantastic. No alcoholic beverages available so only some fizzy drinks to which they had no menu for so we didn't know their costs. Splitting bill was fine. Nice enough experience but probably there won't be a repeat visit seeing there are many other good eateries to discover in Richmond.
A very lovely authentic Thai experience. Delicious food. We’d go again!
Really great value, delicious food in a cosy little place.
