Loved the renovations the staff are amazing, service stop on. Shame the food let it all down. We ordered early as there was a large table coming our main meals was a real let down. The chips over cooked and reheated, the scotch fillet was not a scotch fillet it was a tough piece of cheap rump over cooked. The Hell parmigiana was very mild. Very disappointed

Since visiting many years ago the hotel has undergone major renovations and the restaurant has been upgraded amazingly. The decor and furnishings are of a much higher standard and it makes it a place you want to sit for a while and enjoy your meal. The restaurant manager was very attentive when we arrived and thanked us for coming. Just a couple of things that might be addressed though. We went on a Tues night, when they have certain food specials. We had the fish and chips and for the price we didn't expect it to be a big portion, which was fine. But the fish batter was nearly burnt and the chips so hard we could hardly get our forks into them. It also came out looking like it had just been thrown on the plate. I know it was the "cheap" special, but it was almost inedible. Also, at the door there is a sign explaining the dress standards, but because the TAB is linked to the hotel, we had people wandering through to the bar in all sorts of clothing which brought the atmosphere of the restaurant down to what it used to be as a "workers pub" back in the day. There must be another way for those punters to get a drink without wandering through the restaurant area? I really like the aethestic changes to the hotel, but I am wondering if we will go back because of those things.
