The Duke’s deed and title are well-deserved.This classic Aussie pub has stood on the corner of Barrack and Macquarie Street in central Hobart since 1846, and has managed to retain its old school charm to this day, even though it’s now a bar and restaurant with modern trappings enough to make it a popular CBD destination for fine pub food and drink. The Duke’s lunch and dinner menus are full of solid proclamations on state of the art eating, from burgers and pizzas to some stelar modern Australian mains. With live music on the schedule and a great space for hosting private functions, The Duke is the holistic Hobart pub you’ve been looking for. Damn fine food. If I do say so my damn self. Good drinks. Very accommodating. Great service. Great atmosphere. Fancy without a hint of pretension. Perfection.
Loved it. From the very warm welcome to the extensive menu offering pizza, pasta and steak meals. Exceptional meals and service. Great menu.Highly recommend. Great range of beers on tap too. Two thumbs up.
The staff made my daughter feel incredibly special on her birthday. The food was delicious, the service high quality and timely, and while it was a little noisy that was only because it was packed with people enjoying a great evening.
