The Duke’s deed and title are well-deserved.This classic Aussie pub has stood on the corner of Barrack and Macquarie Street in central Hobart since 1846, and has managed to retain its old school charm to this day, even though it’s now a bar and restaurant with modern trappings enough to make it a popular CBD destination for fine pub food and drink. The Duke’s lunch and dinner menus are full of solid proclamations on state of the art eating, from burgers and pizzas to some stelar modern Australian mains. With live music on the schedule and a great space for hosting private functions, The Duke is the holistic Hobart pub you’ve been looking for. Fantastic food and friendly staff in a comfortable surrounding. Will definitely be back again. The roast chicken with sweet potato mash and asparagus was fantastic
Fabulous food and great atmosphere. The staff are absolutely fabulous and friendly. Stayed on for trivia and had a wonderful evening. Can’t wait to go back.
It was our first experience at the Duke and we'll be back ! Great music , amazing staff and great pub food. A big plus for me , as a mature woman is that I would feel comfortable to go there on my own , and I can't say that about many pubs.
