It was great particular the Foil Gras Unagi Uni Don. It was great the with the Uni had this particular odor that smelled like a mild stinky tofu that can be found in those Wangzhihe jars. The texture and taste was also like it, like the right amount of saltiness and texture of a soft silken tofu. The taste and smell of the Foil Gras is like the Blue cheese that is very mild, but full of fat. Very good combination that leave the nose refreshed.

Food was pricey but fresh and great quality. The seafood is presented beautifully and tastes fantastic, worth the price tag for occasions and celebrations. We were recommended the seasonal Tasmanian Bay of Fire Sea Urchin and it was definitely our favourite! Darker in colour, stronger in flavour but still creamy and melting in your mouth. The things that brought down our rating of The Roe is the decor doesn’t match the price tag, such as the “mermaid curtains” lining one wall cheapens the atmosphere a bit. The staff could also receive a bit more training, food is coming out of order, some mains arriving before entrees and hot food being served before cold. Some staff were fantastic and would introduce the dish while placing it down but some were silent until prompted and then were a bit confused and unable to answer questions. Overall, we would definitely return for the food, but probably special occasions only.

Foods were delicious however the service was not. I felt like I paid premium price for fast food service. It was my first time there ,as soon seated satff just said " scan QR code to order" which was fine. However the next table (western customers) your staff member provided great service by asking "it is your first time?" then went on explaining the menus etc. Why should there be such difference in the services? Secondly we haven't even finished our mains, staff just left the desserts on table without explaining what they are? Your IG, Tiktoc and stories behind The Roe are wonderful. Thank you for creating the unique restaurant for sea urchin food lover. I would suggest you to look at retraining your staff and reposition your marketing strategy. Thanks

the head waitress will need to improve her english communication a lot more, if she is to help make the patrons happy or if she is to help sell more products. It is hard to speak English when you from a non english speaking culture, and this is why I am providing this ffedback.

Good service. Food too heavy on the sauce. Don’t get the creaminess of the sea urchin. I think frozen crab is used, thus no sweetness.
