On bustling Brunswick Street in central Fitzroy, The Stone Hotel is an exciting new addition to the Melbourne dining scene. Their menu may be short, but what they lack in quantity they make up for in quality, doling out a selection of Australian and international dishes with an emphasis on high-quality ingredients. Situated directly opposite the Johnston St and Brunswick St tram stop, it is easily accessible from central Melbourne, so there’s no excuse not to get yourself down for a top quality feed.
Good place for a catch up with friends. Meals were good. A bit noisy for me but i am a little hearing impaired. Good atmosphere with a busy crowd. Staff were attentive and helpful. Had to leave when the dj ramped up but would go back again. Next time we'll sit upstairs.
Staff we're friendly and a good vibe for our family. The only down side was that I orded a burger and the pattie tasted like it was a frozen one, it would have been better if it was a home made pattie. Other than that it was a great night 😊
With an enviable location on Brunswick Street, the beating heart of trendy Fitzroy, The Stone Hotel has opened up to the hungry public of Melbourne with no small amount of confidence. Their menu features only a few sections – sharing platters, main courses, burgers and desserts – but it is heavy on flavours, with dishes that show the best of what modern Australian cooking can offer, bringing in influences from around the world and recreating them with a dash of Aussie flair.
On taking a seat at The Stone Hotel – an old-school corner pub on the corner of Brunswick Street and Johnston Street in Fitzroy – the best option for your order is, of course, a starter. Their share plates offer quinoa salad, Asian chicken ribs, croquettes and more: plenty to be going on with. Move onto their selection of classic Australian pub mainstays: pork loin, fillet steak and burgers. Of course, this being a hotel, the bar is fully-stocked the whole time, so you have plenty to wash down your dinner. The Stone Hotel is a new addition to the Melbourne culinary map, but that hasn’t stopped it filling up: make sure you book your table now so you don’t miss out!
