Top Yard Rooftop Melbourne is the CBD’s hottest rooftop bar and kitchen. On Geddes Lane, the name of the game in terms of food at Top Yard is properly good burgers. They’re stacked high and dirty here and every single one is made with 100% Australian beef with no added nasty stuff. Gluten-free buns are available and the loaded fries make for one of the meanest sides around. Top Yard Rooftop Melbourne is also a great spot just for drinks owning to a booze menu that’s brimming with quality wines, beers and a handful of very enjoyable, signature cocktails. Top Yard is somewhat of a new kid on the block but is already earning quite the reputation for itself as where to head for some of the CBD’s best burgers. Reservation are essential.

Cool place, great to spend the afternoon in the sun, but the food is actually pretty bad. All burger patties were very under for a burger, and the surface was barely grilled; it was like they used the lowest heat setting to seal the outside and called it done, so much so the cheese looked like it was fresh out of the fridge. 12pm on Friday - we had the place to ourselves, so service was pretty fast. All in all, cvoid the food, stay for the rooftop and drinks.

Top Yard Rooftop Melbourne is mighty cool spot right in the CBD that’s perfect for all sorts of casual occasions. The main attraction, of course, is the burger menu, so we’ll run you through our favourites. If you feel like going big, the Saint Anthony the Abbot is what to order. It consists of two pure Australian beef patties, double bacon, cheddar, caramelised onion, mustard, tomato sauce and pickles. Also good is the Miso Happy with katsu pork, spring onion, cheddar, kewpie mayo and lettuce, but if meat isn’t your thing then visit Dr Greenthumb. His buns are filled with a homemade veggie patty, cheddar, pickles and a secret house sauce.
In case you don’t feel like a burger at Top Yard Rooftop Melbourne and you just want something to nibble on with your drink, loaded fries are the way to go. The Hugh Jackman loaded fries come topped with cheddar, smoked bacon and chipotle mayo, while the Eric Cartman’s involve mac & cheese, smoked bacon, more cheddar, pickles and loads of chip dip. From the cocktail list, we’re big fans of The Lagarita: cointreau, tequila, lime juice and corona. But whatever you go for, be sure to arrive at Top Yard Rooftop Melbourne armed with a reservation.
