The private chef experience in the kitchen was unique, made more special with delicious food and wine.

Wine food in the literal sense and the best food I've had! You hear a great explanation from the chef and you get to see him in action in the kitchen! Everybody should try this...truly unique...every course delicious...perfectly proportioned...wine matched just right & staff are I think naturally friendly while being professional at the same time...if you ever have interstate or international visitors bring them here!!

Fabulous, Chef Horst has created such a great experience. The food and wine was sensational and to team it with Shingleback was perfect. This was our second time bringing along more friends to share it with.

Fabulous experience - starting with wine tasting at the cellar door then moving to a table in Chef Horst's kitchen where he explained the menu and confirmed any special request or swaps. Four delicious courses flowed effortlessly from the kitchen, Chef Horst had amble time to chat with us and make sure everything was going smoothly. Unbelievably good value, my only criticism - the portions were too large for my appetite, but most of our table cleared their plates. Highly recommended.

Our first visit for 2018 and Chef Horst has not lost any of his enthusiasm or diminished in his ability to provide an exemplary meal that shines and showcases the winefood concept to it's fullest. Perfectly cooked and executed, a delightful meal as always. Thank you Chef.

An incredible experience and a must do lunch for everyone who loves food and wine. It's an experience like no other in SA where you are up close an personal with chef Horst where he demonstrates how infusing wine and spices instead of placing spices direct on the food can make food delicious but not give your pallet a strong lingering after taste. A great winery too you get to sample the wines before lunch purchase any to take in with you at cellar door prices and no cork age costs either. The best part if you don't finish your wine take it home with you. You want regret it.

We had a great afternoon, the experience was really great, food, wine and staff all exceptional. This is really great value too. A must in the Mclaren Vale.

A really enjoyable afternoon, very experienced and interesting chef, pottering away in the background of our table, but joining in the conversation when appropriate. Talked us through the courses and at times the cooking. No other distractions - could have been at home with a chef: memorable music playing softly in the background and no voices but our own in the kitchen space. Interesting concept, matching food with wine cf wine with food, food and wines selected both excellent. Our group all agreed we'd recommend it to anyone and would happily go again.
