Canberra’s best dumplings are now within easy reach for inner-north locals thanks to Yat Bun Tong. Found down Lonsdale Street in Braddon, the restaurant is situated in a vibrant part of town not far from the ANU campus. Delicious food, great atmosphere. Really friendly staff. Would definitely recommend this restaurant or any of my friends without hesitation. Make sure to get a selection of their dumplings!
Excellent food ! Would definitely recommend and will be eating here again! Have tried the Belconnen one as well which is equally as good and tasty!
The place was packed, but I think the service was prompt considering, and the food was phenomenal! Overall, a great date spot for dumplings :)
Love this place. Great friendly service and yummy food. Highly recommended as a quick and cheap place to eat with all the family. Will visit again soon.
Fantastic range of everything! Delicious prawn dumplings, mixed vegetable pan fried dumplings and crispy salt and pepper squid and tofu, peppery hot and sour soup. The chef/owner offered access to undercover parking by ringing the restaurant number the next time we visited. Due to it being peak dining time at 7pm, service was a bit slow. Other than that, everything else could not be faulted. We are heading back there again this week.
Very comprehensive menu and excellent food. Very limited wine list but not over-priced like most others. Service is hap-hazard and very amateurish, concentrating on clearing tables rather than customers' needs. It's a very noisy venue because the acoustics of the room are dreadful. I could not converse with my wife while we were sitting opposite each other. Everyone screams to be heard when the place is full, especially the 20-something females with high voices. Experience the food, but it's definitely not the place for a romantic night out.
The food is always delicious, the range of northern and southern cuisine is fantastic, the service fast and efficient. Fri and Sat nights are very busy so best to book an early dinner. One of the owners is usually there and will happily greet people. A jug of cold water and cups quickly follow. Very considerate bringing out bright colourful plastic cups, bowls and cutlery for kids.
Always a fabulous experience at Yat Bun Tong. Food is exceptional. Plus they've got a small private room for groups. Staff are lovely & friendly too.
Consistently fantastic food. Absolutely love eating here. Service could be better - it's a bit hard to catch anyone's eye - but other than that, one of my favourites. Controversial, but it possibly rivals Dickson Dumpling House for the best dumplings in canberra. Highly recommend fried vegetable dumplings, salt and pepper tofu, omelettes, and pork won tons in chilli oil.
Absolutely amazing dumplings!!! :) :) :) The best dumplings I have ever tasted and lovely service too. I highly recommend you visit Yat Bun Tong!
