Aiming to evoke the feeling of the good old days, when families sat down to enjoy time spent in each other's company, sharing stories over home-cooked meals made from scratch using simple ingredients, and a bottle of great wine, Andiamo Trattoria is a favourite among Sydney’s aficionados of Italian cuisine, boasting a number of different restaurants scattered across the city. You’ll find the Rhodes restaurant located on Rider Boulevard – to snag a seat at Andiamo Trattoria, making a reservation in advance is recommended!
Situated in the heart of Rhodes, Andiamo Trattoria feels more like a little trattoria that you would stumble upon somewhere in rural Italy, with its traditional decor complete with white table cloths, rustic wooden details and fairy lights. The perfect place, whether it's for a family meal or an intimate dinner date with its warm and cosy ambience. It’s not just the setting that will make you feel right at home, Andiamo Trattoria serve up home-style Italian cuisine, just like how your nonna would make.
In true Italian style, begin your meal by sharing some antipasti like the cozze bianco (black local mussels served in garlic, white wine, shallots & cream with crusty ciabatta bread), polpette (homemade Italian meatballs) or the chunky polenta chips with a gorgonzola dipping sauce). Then, move on to a rustic pasta dish like the spaghetti aglio e olio (garlic, parsley and extra virgin olive oil with toasted breadcrumbs and chilli), an authentic stonebaked Southern Italian-style pizza with an array of fresh toppings, or another Italian favourite like the scallopine alla prima (tender veal served with avocado and king prawns in a creamy rosa sauce). Finish off with some home-baked dessert, gelato or a glass or two of fine Italian wine – bellisimo! Bringing a taste of Italian culture to Sydney’s Rhodes, Andiamo Trattoria draws in diners to its location on Rider Boulevard for both lunch and dinner, every day of the week. To guarantee a space at Andiamo Trattoria in Rhodes, booking a table ahead of time is advised. Buono Appetito!
The food and atmosphere was lovely. It wasn't as busy on a Sunday night and we arrived nice and early. Staff was attentive. Tiramisu was excellent. Look forward to coming back here again.
What a lovely gem Andiamo Rhodes is. Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff who were happy to answer our questions regarding the menu and always on hand to refill our glasses. The food was delicious! Honest, Italian food. From the bruschetta and calamari fritti to the spaghetti with meatballs and prawn risotto. Will definitely go back again.
Fantastic food and a really pleasant and helpful staff - obviously very busy on Valnetines Day but the restaurant coped well with a large crowd.
Always amazing food and friendly service! Definitely recommend for anyone wanting tasty traditional pasta dishes or yummy gourmet pizzas. Prices are very reasonable and restaurant has lovely feel.
Food is excellent and the service by Tavio was fabulous. Just one little thing. The serving of the Tiramisu was tiny. I understand the value of it, that it comes as an affogato as well but that option should be separate. I don't need a shot of coffee on top of the Tiramisu nor the extra cream. Both my friend and I ordered the Tiramisu plus a coffee. She got her extra shot but I didn't, not that I would have drunk it but still got charged the same. I opted not to have the extra shot, just include the latte that I ordered. But the serving of the Tiramisu itself was a little cube. For $15, I can feed 10 people. Just a suggestion, maybe charge $12 as other restaurants do with a decent serve of Tiramisu then extra if you want it as an affogato. All in all, the food is excellent, I will be back soon and bring more people. I've been here a few times already and enjoy it every time. Keep up the good work and cooking :-). Grazie
- Loved the ambience in the restaurant with the decor and low lighting very welcoming, - Waiters friendly and knowledgeable but seemed abit stretched and run off their feet - Flavours of food overall lovely, with the Penne Soprano and Tiramisu a standout and absolutely delicious - Pizza (bases) however were extremely soggy and wet to the point of not being able to be picked up without everything falling off, which was annoying and a shame as the flavours were pretty nice - Ordered a coke which came out flat (promptly replaced) and tasted like it was post mix? Not convinced it was 'real' coke from a bottle... - Surprised and disappointed that the 'Parmesan' on tables was that powdered, pointless, tasteless variety found in cheap establishments as the restaurant seems more 'authentic' than that (and is certainly not 'cheap') - Mediterranean salad (chosen due to the addition of fetta) only had three cubes of fetta in it... - Overall an enjoyable evening with the family in a charming restaurant with decent food
Waiters and service AMAZING! The waiters were absolutely delightful! soo friendly. We were there on Saturday. Very hot day and where we were seated, the air con was not reaching. They quickly and swiftly without issue at all, moved us to a more comfortable table before our mains. Such Friendly service, food was great! very quick and professional but absolutely friendly. Loved it. My partner and I went for the first time and loved it, so we invited our 4 friends this saturday and they said the same. Definitely recommend. To the owner - you have an awesome team! Thank you Melissa
We have eaten at Amdiamo's a few times now. The staff are efficient, friendly and helpful. The food however, is just amazing. We had their signature dish the de-boned lamb that had been cooked for several hours, and complimented with lemon. It was succulent and melt in the mouth, with diced and roasted potatoes and a finely sliced and diced salad. M mmmm. (I wasn't sure if I liked the infusion of lemon, possibly because I like mint??) - it was still delicious.
Birthday celebration on Friday night - booking essential to get a good table.. Food choices were amazing - very comprehensive and tasteful - a bit slow between courses but really great food. A bit noisy where small children were allowed to run around the restaurant without any reprimand. At 9.30 at night one would expect them to be home - this restaurant not really a place for very young children - not a good OH&S set up - anyone of them could run into a waiter carrying hot food. I cannot understand why parents allow this to happen!
We reserved for four adult and a kid for the dinner. A serve of the garlic bread is large enough for us to share. We loved the calamari with thin crisp batter. The pasta Fettuccine Creme Pollo is nice. The Prawn Risotto is the best I have ever tasted. The pizza Siena has way too much fresh rocket. And the dessert board for two is enough for all of us. The Tiramisu and gelato are good but we have too much bread for the day with the donuts.
