Well, this award-winning hatted restaurant is home to a menu brimming with Italian classics and specialty signature dishes that will quite literally have you weak at the knees. Perfectly matching its chic decor, there is an air of cafe-meets-wine bar in this Surry Hills haven, yet the food is truly world-class – even nonna would be impressed. While the menu changes at Baccomatto Osteria according to season, you can expect starters along the lines of warm cuttlefish salad with zucchini and citrus, salted cod and potato croquettes and delectable tomato and basil meatballs. Also worth a look is the design-your-own antipasti platter with a range of charcuterie dishes you really want to be trying.

Then, for the main event, Sydney’s Baccomatto Osteria offers buckwheat cannelloni with sheep ricotta and Tuscan cabbage; chargrilled pork cutlets topped with almond puree, fennel and grapefruit and Roman-style lamb shoulder and vignarola that will melt in your mouth. Fabulous food and staff , really enjoyed it, daily homemade specials are sensational and the atmosphere is excellent, definitely will go back. Wine list is terrific.
