Part of the much-loved Billy’s Group, Billy’s Central in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD offers an informal dining space with a rustic feel and approach to food that’s wholesome and centred on health and sustainability. Located on the corner of LaTrobe and Swanston Street, you’ll find some of the best cafe-style fare in the city, with a menu that’s simply bursting with flavoursome dishes. No matter your selection, you can rest assured the quality and presentation will be up to muster, and your tastebuds will be left floating on cloud nine. So whether it’s for coffee and breakfast or a tipple and feast later on, Billy’s Central is a must-try foodie haven. Reservations are essential.
Excellent food and customer service. The menu variety was pretty extensive, yet it was quite easy to choose from. Kid friendly also. Great coffee. Recommend.
My second visit to Billy’ Central, Billy’s Central has always provided yummy food with consistent quality and warm services. The cafe is convinienly situated next to the connecting bridge from Melbourne Central to Emporium, a very nice and quiet corner to enjoy an afternoon tea.
Billy’s Central was great and had a good atmosphere. Food was good and have already gone back.
The menu is undoubtedly the star of the show at any Billy’s, and the same goes for Billy’s Central in the CBD. If you’re in for breakfast, tuck into Melbourne brunch staple, avocado smash topped with feta, lime, mixed nuts, poached eggs and chilli relish, or go for the Billy’s Central classic egg and bacon focaccia with your morning espresso. And don’t worry, we tested the coffee, it definitely passes the Melbourne standard.
What about later on though? If you’re part of the lunch or late-night crowd, Billy’s Central has got you sorted as well. Kick things off with a serve of the flash-fried calamari coated in rice flour (so it’s gluten-free) and served with chipotle aioli and lime; apple cider onion rings and salmon cakes served with sweet corn puree and lemon. Then, if you’re after a salad we love the super salad filled with crispy kale, quinoa, spinach feta and nuts. While those with a hearty appetite should keep an eye out for the fully loaded chicken burger served with handcut chips, trio of beef, pork and Jamaican chicken sliders and the lamb risotto. With plenty more besides, do yourself a favour and pay Billy’s Central a visit. You’ll find it on LaTrobe Street in the CBD, but just be sure to reserve in advance.
