Small cosy restaurant. Service was great and the food was served quickly as is the need for Pre-show meals.

food was served promptly... Delicious and fresh... the Chef’s special spring rolls were superb,the crispy pancake with prawn was very light with plenty of prawns and served with lots of fresh salad. The stuffed eggplant also a taste sensation. The main servings were generous ... The service was very friendly... we WILL be back😁👍

Great choice of dishes. The signature beef dish was my favourite for the night. It was a very relaxed atmosphere for a group of friends

Great food. Fresh produce and authentic Vietnamese flavors. Cool casual vibe, extensive menu. We took grandkids who loved it. Amazing fish tank backdrop. We’ll definitely go back!

We had pork dumplings as an entree and the duck chef special as the main. Both were quite dry, we did go for dinner on Sunday night so may have prepared the day before.

We love our local restaurant Black ginger for its exceptional food, friendly service and reasonable prices. Wonderful place to eat before a show at the Enmore.

Black ginger is our go to restaurant when we are off to see a concert at the Enmore Theatre. As always great food and service.

Great food, great service, good prices. There is even a fish tank with lovely fish that watch you eat. Don’t eat get sea food in front of them though. That’s mean.

Once again we enjoyed dining at Black Ginger. The food is fabulous, the service quick (perfect for a pre show dinner at the Enmore Theatre) and its great value. BYO and licensed. We will be back again!

Probably one of the most underrated Vietnamese restaurants in Sydney. Whenever I’m in the area and get a chance to go, I’m here. Highly recommend the Bo Luk Lak with incredibly tender wagyu beef and the Chicken Lemongrass. The staff are great, so genuine and treat you like family.

We first visited Black Ginger, on recommendations of reviews, just one week earlier and loved the food. This time we had guests from the US and we wanted to invite them to join us. I adore Pho, and the Wague beef Pho is outstanding. Rich broth and not overloaded with noodles, with a perfect amount of delicate slices of beef. I am yet to try the Vietnamese pancakes -which are another favorite of mine. The staff are wonderful, friendly, polite, very helpful. I highly recommend a visit for an excellent meal, in simple but very cosy surroundings.

Food was great. The service was great. It was BYO wine as well- always a bonus! Neighbourhood gem. We will be back! Great pre show dinner.

Loved the food, had duck crispy pancake, the chefs special beef, plus crispy spring rolls and duck Vietnamese rollls. All the food was delicious and we will be back. Service was excellent, really friendly staff. Also very conveniently located across the road from the Enmore Theatre where we were going to see a band. Speedy service plus BYO made for an excellent dinner.

Great food, great service, great price! My favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Newtown, we always enjoy eating out here whether it is with a group of friends or just the two of us.

Fantastic food which was very tasty, great staff who were very helpful. Great value for money and will certainly go there again for more meals.

The staff at Black Ginger were Very friendly and attentive. The Wagyu and Black Ginger spring rolls were yummy. Overall the food was excellent! Will return.

Even though we were half an hour late on a Friday night due to problems with parking and traffic, they still saved our table for us. The food was delicious and plenty of it. Would go again and recommend to friends.
