Great atmosphere, so much flavour in food! Great views. Highly recommend.
Staff friendly and efficient. Food nice. Good value for money with lunch special. We had a view. So overall we had a lovely time.
I asked the waitress which white wine was dry, and she was obviously struggling, I said I am happy for her to ask her colleagues, but she declined (!). She had us taste two wines, and we picked one which was fine. I think a better response would have been to ask her colleagues and have us taste two of their suggestions.
As Melbourne’s meeting place, Bluetrain Cafe has a serious reputation to live up to. Never disappointing, this amazing dining establishment is striking both in its appearance and in the cuisine on offer. From pizzas to chargrilled specialities, Bluetrain Cafe’s menu features some of the city’s very best cuisine. The location at the Southgate Complex in Melbourne’s South Bank is stunning, and the bar offers 16 taps of craft beer and an extensive menu of wines and cocktails to keep your thirst quenched. Chef Jay Sinclair isn’t messing around in the kitchen – his Australian fusion cuisine is some of the best that Melbourne has to offer. When dining at this superlative South Bank CBD cafe, you’ll want to start off with tasting plates featuring delights such as marinated kangaroo fillet, sesame crusted seared tuna, chicken karaage and crispy-skin duck breast salad. There are many choices when it comes to mains, including the cajun pulled pork burger, the country-style roast duck risotto, crumbed veal cotoletta and freshly baked pizzas with gourmet toppings like spiced pumpkin, sun-dried tomatoes and marinated prawns among others. Bluetrain also features an excellent kids’ menu with sophisticated options like crumbed veal schnitzel, ham & pineapple pizza and linguine napoli, so bring the little foodies along. This is truly the people’s cafe – booking ahead will ensure a table at this bustling, busy local cafe.
