Combining the exceptional local produce you might expect from a productive rural area with the refined professionalism of an inner Melbourne eatery, Bom Gosto is a popular cafe and restaurant among Lilydale locals and day-trippers alike. Veer off Maroondah Highway towards Castella Street for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and you’ll soon see why Bom Gosto is worth the special trip in itself. Just be sure to book, because you won’t be the only one taken by its charm.

It was closed. It confirmed my booking. I sent it to my friend and when we met there. It was closed. Rude.
As always the food was delicious! Best burgers and chips.
It was quiet and the service was lovely and the food was delicious. Menu pricing/meal deals was good value for money. Although we were disappointed that a few menu requests couldn’t be made although they were on the menu.
Saunter out towards Melbourne’s rural-urban fringe and you will encounter lush woodlands, the sound of birds and, if you visit Bom Gosto, all the culinary comforts you may have thought left behind in Melbourne. That said, you don’t want to make the special trip and be left out in the cold, so book well in advance to make sure of a spot since this cafe and restaurant, just off Maroondah Highway onto Castella Street in Lilydale, is always popular. Close to beautiful Lilydale Lake and its spectacular wildlife, Bom Gosto is a local favourite in outer northeast Melbourne, but it is also the ideal pit stop on a trip to the Dandenong and Yarra ranges.
By day a cosy cafe on Castella Street, Bom Gosto is a haven for coffee-lovers on the edge of the Melbourne city limits, and the amazing homemade relish they take to the local Lilydale Farmers Market makes for an ideal gift, souvenir or something simply to be devoured. But hang around for the evening and you’ll really see Bom Gosto come to life as a casual restaurant. Feast on beefy burgers, enjoy a seasonal salad, or share a woodfired pizza among friends and you will be in no hurry to get back to the city.
