Combining the exceptional local produce you might expect from a productive rural area with the refined professionalism of an inner Melbourne eatery, Bom Gosto is a popular cafe and restaurant among Lilydale locals and day-trippers alike. Veer off Maroondah Highway towards Castella Street for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and you’ll soon see why Bom Gosto is worth the special trip in itself. Just be sure to book, because you won’t be the only one taken by its charm.
Saunter out towards Melbourne’s rural-urban fringe and you will encounter lush woodlands, the sound of birds and, if you visit Bom Gosto, all the culinary comforts you may have thought left behind in Melbourne. That said, you don’t want to make the special trip and be left out in the cold, so book well in advance to make sure of a spot since this cafe and restaurant, just off Maroondah Highway onto Castella Street in Lilydale, is always popular. Close to beautiful Lilydale Lake and its spectacular wildlife, Bom Gosto is a local favourite in outer northeast Melbourne, but it is also the ideal pit stop on a trip to the Dandenong and Yarra ranges.
By day a cosy cafe on Castella Street, Bom Gosto is a haven for coffee-lovers on the edge of the Melbourne city limits, and the amazing homemade relish they take to the local Lilydale Farmers Market makes for an ideal gift, souvenir or something simply to be devoured. But hang around for the evening and you’ll really see Bom Gosto come to life as a casual restaurant. Feast on beefy burgers, enjoy a seasonal salad, or share a woodfired pizza among friends and you will be in no hurry to get back to the city.
Awesome food and good vibe in the restraunt will definitely be back on a regular basis can wait for that next meal at Bom Gusto
Fantastic meal. Great coffee. Perfect little breakfast nook. While a little on the small side, on a nice day there's plenty of room. The place has lovely staff and a great atmosphere.
Wednesday night is parma night and it was delicious. I had the chilli beef chicken parma - the chilli beef had just the perfect amount of heat and the chicken was tender. Love the atmosphere at Bom Gosto and the service is excellent.
The service was freindly and the food was great. A lovely little cafe style restaurant.i had the chicken burger and chips, which I enjoyed. We were offered water as soon as we sat down.
Bom Gosto is a busy, fun place! The food was excellent (we ate there on Parma night) and the staff were friendly and attentive. It’s a licensed restaurant with a fairly compact wine list that could use the addition of a good local sparkling. As a group we found it quite loud inside and chose to sit outside when our meals arrived
The food is consistently of high quality and taste. Price is surprisingly low for the amount and quality of the food. Of course booking early is essential at Bom Gosto as it is always busy and so it should be.
Bom Gosto was fantastic. The meals were great, however the most outstanding thing was the service. It was fun, personal and makes us want to go back again :)
Fantastic food, great staff and very reasonavle prices. Every time we go to Bom Gosto we leave happy with the experience. Keep it up guys.
Food tasted great. A little on the pricey side for the size of serves. The main negative for us was the really long wait, we reserved a table for 11:30 and they did not have a table ready. We squeezed onto a small table that was available. After we ordered it took 40 minutes for the food to arrive to the table. (We ordered burgers and sandwiches)
Great atmosphere! Delicious food! I had the lamb with roast veggie salad and it was very good. I love that the salads are always different depending on the season. We've been a number of times and are never disappointed.
