Bon Pollo

Bon Pollo = good chicken. Kind of, at least in some kind of Franco-Spanish pidgin. For anybody around Royal North Shore Hospital in St Leonards, though, Bon Pollo translates more closely to great chicken. This popular casual Middle Eastern spot on Pacific Highway can barbecue with the best of ‘em around Sydney’s northern suburbs, and their plates of charcoal chook are comfort food epitomised. That’s not to say this is an ‘eat chicken or go hungry’ situation, because Bon Pollo also specialise in superb spreads of authentic Lebanese treats like fresh tabbouleh, juicy grilled sausages and oodles of the creamiest hummus you can hope for. Bon Pollo is a laid-back, spacious spot but it can fill up quickly on occasion, so it’s often wise to book a table before you go to avoid a long wait.
