Located right in the heart of Fitzroy, Bontempo is one of our favourite Italian restaurants in Melbourne. Serving up a range of classics, including antipasto, focacce, pizza, pasta and Italian secondi mains, Bontempo does not disappoint. We love starting with the platter that’s brimming with cured Italian meats and vegetables, arancini balls – these change regularly – and char-grilled calamari served with salad. Then, it’s all about the spaghetti Bolognese, fettuccine gamberoni with king prawns or the panko-crumbed schnitzel. The pizza here is also outstanding, as is the wine list, so you can rest assured you’ll be in for a wonderful evening, indeed. You’ll find Bontempo Melbourne on Brunswick Street where reservations are essential.
